The Bridge will NOT be Renewed for a Third Season

FUCK!!!

It shouldn't be surprising that FX would cancel The Bridge.  They're running a business after all, and The Bridge's ratings have been dismal.  But still...

“The best TV program you're not watching” and all that...

Such a shame. My wife and I love that show, especially the female lead.

Jim: Yup, it was great. I never watched the first season, so it took awhile this season to figure out who's who and who did what to who, etc. But it was totally mesmerizing; I can't believe it didn't connect with the public.

Look at it this way, perhaps it's better to cancel it then have it "jump the shark!" and leave you pissed off.

Damn it, when you think about all the schlock that's on TV, Kardashians, My Job's Worse than Your Job, etc., why do they cancel one of the few really good shows?

Probably part of the reason is that this show had great actors, lots of location shots, and probably cost a lot to make. I think they do the "reality" shows for a fraction of the cost.

Rats!

Oh don't get me started on all the good shows I watch that are, or have been cancelled. It will piss me of more than watching the World series right now and seeing KC tied with my beloved Giants.

Initially, I liked the show. But there was something about it that didn't work for me. Great actors, etc., but the story got tiresome and I lost interest and just stopped watching.

Erik: True, but I think it would have taken a long time for The Bridge to reach the shark-jumping stage.

SM: You're right, it's a pretty sad commentary on the viewing public. The Bridge was so riveting, I just can't believe it didn't click with TV viewers.

Jess: True, this happens a lot to people who have taste, whether it's TV shows, music, movies, etc. Good TV programs get canceled, brilliant musicians fall through the cracks while Britney Spears sells billions of records, etc.

Go Giants!

Walter: I'm glad you at least gave it a try. The Bridge probably turned off some viewers with all the violence and convoluted subplots and plot twists, but I found it mesmerizing.

Didn't much care about the characters either. They just left me flat.
