Just what we need, another loudmouth chickenhawk trying to incite war in the Middle East.
Mitt Romney wrote a column in the Washington Post saying Iran is “racing to build a nuclear bomb.” Americans of the non-chickenhawk persuasion aren’t the only people who are alarmed by Romney’s saber-rattling.
Efraim Halevy, former Mossad director, said Romney’s warmongering rhetoric could become a self-fulfilling prophecy by spurring the Iranians to hurry up and develop those nuclear weapons they supposedly have, in order to deter an attack in case Romney gets elected.
Efraim Halevy said:
“If I’m sitting here in the month of March 2012 reading this, and I’m an Iranian leader, what do I understand? I have nine more months to run as fast as I can because this is going to be terrible if the other guys get in.”
He also said: “In the effort to demolish the president, Romney is making the situation worse.”
How many American soldiers are Republican politicians willing to murder, just to make Obama a one-term president?
Funny how “inciting a riot” is a felony, but relentless demagoguery that incites a war — costing thousands of lives and billions of dollars — is perfectly legal.
