Who Hijacked Our Country

Phyllis Schlafly: “Fuck Those Dirty Mexicans! The GOP is the White People’s Party!”

That wasn’t her exact wording but the message is clear.  In Phyllis Schlafly’s own words:

“I think that’s a great myth because the Hispanics who come in like this are going to vote Democrat.  And there is not the slightest bit of evidence they are going to vote Republican.  And the people the Republicans should reach out to are the white votes — the white voters who didn’t vote in the last election, and there are millions of them.”

She also lashed out at the GOP’s recent non-teatard presidential candidates — Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney — as “a series of losers.”

“The propagandists are leading us down the wrong path.  There’s not any evidence at all that these Hispanics coming in from Mexico will vote Republican.”

Let’s go back to “…the white voters who didn’t vote in the last election, and there are millions of them.”  Maybe so, but how many of them will die of old age between now and the next election?

We’ll see which group is able to win the hearts and minds of Republican voters over the next few years:  Moderate Republicans — if they even exist any more — or the raging sickfuck coalition of warmongering chickenhawks, Talibangelicals and “free market” dildos.

If the GOP does not move back to the political center, where most of the voters are, they’ll need to update their motto.  How about “Republicans:  Too old to take a piss without a catheter, too young to die.”

Way to go rebranding the republicans as the inclusive party there Phyllis. Shouldn't she be preparing herself for a long dirt nap right about now? It seems like these dinosaurs outlive everyone don't they?

This is a repeat of the same line they've been saying for over 30 years. As I have posted before they always "reach out" when they get their asses kicked in the last election. But then either because their hearts aren't into reaching out or the group(s) they are trying to reach out to don't fall for it - they do what Phyllis said to do, they dig up more white voters.(then pray for Apathy from everybody else)

Recently with Fear such as Gay Marriage and Terrorism. It will be interesting to see what the next one is

It's only one election but if the Democrats take the Midterms and then the next presidential election THEN you will see some real change.

Now I wanna see how Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and the rest of the Hispanic Republicans respond to this.

Or rich enough to wear out three hearts and still buy another if needed. That rich bastard Cheney should have died long ago but his money and his pure evilness has kept him alive beyond his years!

It's amusing she called Dole, McCain and Romney a series of losers. Their losses will be nothing compared to the smacking the GOP will receive when they run a wingnut like Ted Cruz or Rand Paul.

@Erik, Cruz and Rubio are Cuban republicans, big HUGE difference between them and Hispanics like I am. being of Puerto Rican heritage. No love lost between Mexicans and Cubans for the most part and it comes down to the policy of who can get in the country and when. Cubans, step foot on the soil and you are in, Mexicans and the rest, step foot on the soil and you are an illegal.

@Life, when Cheney gets his bucket kicked there will be no end to the terrible things I will say about him. I hate that guy with the heat of a thousand suns and more.

Phyllis should really just go away - we don't want to hear from you, you old bat. Way to set women's rights back a century!

If Repubs/teatards keep running the way they have been (and ousting all the moderates), then they won't be in the White House for another 50 years at least.

I really like your new motto for them. How about this? "Republicans: oldest living fossils."

Schlafly has always been a piece of work. Obviously, she still is. My spiteful side hopes GOP powers that be will follow her bigoted, backward, suitably selfish political advice.

When they lost the Midterms to Pelolsi, they talked about Reaching out, but threw it out the window in the following election

Moderate republicans won't exist. Or maybe we will go the way of Mexico with their political model.

That's what I want...with expanding civil rights, everything else we really can't control....money has a life of it's own, I think. Just keep the internet mostly free, be nicer to each other, stop tolerating intolerace, and keep our fingers crossed the whole world doesn't end up like Jamacia.

If you think change can happen fast in a bad way, it can happen in a good way too.

Jess: These rightwing nutcases seem to live longer than anyone.

Erik: Yup, it's the same cycle every time. They keep "reaching out" and inviting everyone into their "Big Tent" and then they kick out everyone who's gay, nonwhite, poor or not far enough to the right.

This should put Cruz and Rubio in an awkward position.

Life: LOL. Maybe an evil heart is the secret to a long life.

Jim: I hope that's exactly what happens -- somebody like Rand Paul or Ted Cruz runs in 2016 and gets his ass kicked.

Jess: The contrast was really interesting back in the '80s between Cuban refugees and refugees from Guatemala and El Salvador. Cuban refugees were welcomed with open arms since they were fleeing that wicked Castro regime. Guatemalans and El Salvadorans were fleeing from rightwing juntas that were ten times more brutal than anything Castro ever dreamed of, but they'd be sent back since Guatemala and El Salvador were our anti-communist allies.

Who knows if Cheney will ever die, or if he'll just keep getting new organs to replace the ones that stop functioning.

Lisa G.: I hope that's what the GOP keeps doing -- running one teajob after another for president, and not getting into the White House for 50 years.

SW: I share the same spiteful hope, that Republicans keep following the backward suicidal advice of their furthest right extremists.

Erik: That's what they do every time they lose, reach out and then push away again.

Anonymous: You're right, the Internet and social media will be the key to everyone getting out from under their corporate/government oppressors.
