Bush Family: Above It All

We’re seeing more and more that the Bush family is completely sheltered and insulated from the problems that plague most Americans. People killed or maimed in Iraq, economic misery, natural disasters — ho hum, pass the caviar.

But two quotes from Barbara Bush really bring home just how arrogant and above-it-all our “leaders” really are:

While touring some hurricane relief centers in Houston, she said “Almost everyone I’ve talked to says we’re going to move to Houston. What I’m hearing which is sort of scary is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this—this (she chuckles slightly) is working very well for them.”

Just before the Iraqi invasion in March 2003, Marie Antoinette Barbara Bush said “But why should we hear about body bags, and deaths, and how many, what day it's gonna happen, and how many this or what do you suppose? Or, I mean, it’s, it’s not relevant. So, why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?”

Oh really. The problems of everyday peons — boooorrriing!!

Our country is being ruled by aristocrats who have no connection, no concept, of what life is like for the other 95%. This isn’t about class warfare. Obviously the President of the United States isn’t gonna live in a ghetto, and didn’t say “would you like fries with that” at his previous job. But this complete detachment and disinterest on the part of our “leaders” — we all know what happened to Marie Antoinette. How is the Bush family any different?

George W. Bush is — literally — a son of a bitch.
