“I Came Unarmed, This Time” — the Sequel
And sure enough, the next time he was ARMED. Johnny got his gun.
Mark Meckler, founder of the Tea Party Patriots, was arrested at La Guardia International Airport. He was caught trying to board a plane with a semi-automatic handgun and some ammunition.
At the next teabagger gathering, look for this new updated version of their famous sign: “I came armed with only a semi-automatic handgun. This time.”

Much ado over nothing in my opinion. If anything he should be punished for being stupid. The gun was in a locked gun box and he declared it when he was being processed at the airport. Unless of course he hopes to create a shit storm and gain some much needed publicity for his floundering movement. The Left should leave this one alone.
My Understanding is, even Cops aren't allowed to carry guns on a airplane out of their jurisdiction.

Macrum, you make a good point. There has been increasing signs lately the NRA is making stuff up, hoping to get its paranoid membership back in Pavlovian-response mode in time for next year's election. Given the absence of gun control measures from the Obama administration and Dems in Congress, NRA leadership has to do something to keep the money rolling in and the membership in a high state of outrage.
MRM: True, this isn't an earthshaking matter. I just wanted to take a swipe at an arrogant teatard who thinks he's above the law.
Erik: I don't know their rules in detail but that makes sense to me.
SW: No doubt the NRA will run with this. If a Real American can't even bring his beloved semi-automatic on board a plane, the turrists have won.
