Republicans WON’T suffer Backlash from Voters if they Shut Down the Federal Government
Riiight. These are the same dickwads who said Mitt Romney would win by a landslide last November. And Obamacare would be overturned by the Supreme Court. And now that Obamacare hasn’t been overturned, it’s such a “train wreck” that it’ll just collapse under its own weight.
Heritage Action for America is trying to convince reluctant Republicans lawmakers that it’s OK to shut down the federal government in order to defund Obamacare. They have a poll showing that the GOP can shut down the government and NOT suffer any consequences in the 2014 election. [see previous paragraph]
Come on, GOP. Do it. Take the plunge. Shut down the government. Jump. Crash and Burn.

Maybe they're right, but I wager they haven't thought much about the swing states where they could lose 40-50 seats. Maybe because the "sequester" doesn't seem so severe they figure they can take it one step further and shut down.
If it will help them slash their necks in Congress I say go ahead, then maybe, just maybe they'll get a awakening and then maybe (there's that word again) the moderates can gain a foothold and we can have a government that works... again.
Maybe

I'm terrible with HTML, so I don't know if this link will come through or not. But I have been saying what this article says for some time now, and I feel somewhat validated seeing similar opinions now appearing in print:
the real reason they are so against "Obamacare"?
This is completely disgusting. Why are "we" letting "them" get away with this stuff? The legislators who want to shut the government down know they won't be touched at all by anything they do, it'll just be the peons who pay them who will suffer. I just don't see why we're allowing these self-righteous assholes to remain in their jobs.
Comes the revolution . . .
I really hope that they overstep themselves in some meaningful way, whether it's by stupidities like this or something else -- and then get thrown the F**K out!
Erik: The GOP, today's version, needs to get completely decimated in both houses of Congress and as many state legislatures as possible. Then, and only then, the party might make a comeback, but only if the moderates and other non-teatards can regain control of the party.
Snave: Thanks for the link. Excellent analysis; I think that's exactly the GOP's motive in continuing to attack Obamacare. It's just a power play, an end in itself; plus the fact that they hate the idea of any taxpaying non-VIP getting "something for nothing."
SM: Good question. It's inconceivable that they keep getting away with the same shit again and again, with no consequences or accountability whatsoever.
Anonymous: I hope so too. I hope they severely miscalculate this and overplay their hand Big Time and get thrown the fuck out in 2014.
