California Ballot Measure will Require Politicians to Wear Their Corporate Owners' Logos

And it's not a hoax or just a joke.  San Diego entrepreneur John Cox is running the California Isn't For Sale campaign. Signature-gathering will begin this January.  John Cox said:

“This is a very serious initiative. This is not a joke. If you came down from Mars and you looked at our electoral system, you’d say to yourself, ‘How dumb is this?’ You’ve got a system under which people who want something from government fund the campaigns of the people who make the decisions. How stupid is that system?”

Undoubtedly this won't be legally binding when (not if) voters approve it.  But it'll bring a lot of publicity and sunlight to an issue that the Powers That Be would rather keep in the dark.  And if there are millions of dollars' worth of TV ads warning about the scary consequences of this initiative (funded by anonymous donors of course), the irony will be unbearable.

I love this idea, but I'm too far gone as a cynic to believe it will take off. Nor do I believe any politician would do it.

I think this is a great idea. I can't wait to vote for it.

jadedj: If nothing else, I like the publicity and ridicule this initiative will bring, plus the self-righteous squirming and hemming and hawing we can expect from the prostitute/legislators and their pimps.

Jerry: Same here. I hope this will become a national trend.

I love the fact people are starting to recognize how corrupt our political system has become.

Karlo: They certainly need to be laughed at, whether it gets them out of office or not.

Anonymous: China? Oh, I would have thought it would be al Qaeda, or the Agenda 21 Enforcement Committee, or the Kenyan Tribal Commission for the Extermination of All White People.

Jim: I hope this recognition continues to spread.

jadedj: No need for yielding :) I'm just glad we all agree on how laughable these politician/prostitutes have become.

Makes sense! Athletes wear the Nike Swooshes and the Under Armour symbols all over them, and everybody thinks they're cool, maybe that'll coax the politicians to wear theirs. Like a letterman jacket with a big "R" for Republican and "D" for ...you get the idea.

They'll be the BMOC's around the capital. They can throw chug-a-lugs and bust up the frat houses, they can pants and dunk the greens and socialist in the toilets!

This really could work!

Erik: LOL. Maybe some football games or mud wrestling contests. Or even something more violent, like maybe a few No Holds Barred cage-fighting matches. "Whoa! Exxon's MMA champ is just kicking the living shit out of Goldman Sachs' contender! Oooooohhh!!!"
