Who Hijacked Our Country

Republicans: “No, the Constitution is NOT some sort of living breathing always-relevant entity. And Neither Are We.”

No wonder the GOP insists the Constitution is just an old dead fixed cobweb-covered item.  That description fits today’s Republican Party to a T.

Robert Reich nailed it in his article titled R.I.P. GOP.

He wrote that the Republican Party has died and has been “replaced by warring tribes.”

According to Robert Reich, these six warring tribes are:

“Evangelicals opposed to abortion, gay marriage, and science.

Libertarians opposed to any government constraint on private behavior.

Market fundamentalists convinced the “free market” can do no wrong.

Corporate and Wall Street titans seeking bailouts, subsidies, special tax loopholes, and other forms of crony capitalism.

Billionaires craving even more of the nation’s wealth than they already own.s

And white working-class Trumpoids who love Donald. and are becoming convinced the greatest threats to their wellbeing are Muslims, blacks, and Mexicans.”

And each one of these tribes is “its own distinct political entity, complete with their own separate sources of funding, their own specific whack-job ideologies, and even their own presidential candidates.  What’s left is a lifeless shell called the Republican Party. But the Grand Old Party inside the shell is no more.”

I find it very difficult to even say R.I.P.

jadedj: Same here. "Burn in Hell" or "Twist and scream in agony throughout eternity" would be more accurate.
