Jerry: Yup, sad but true. Logic doesn't stand a chance against knee-jerk reflexes.

And there is plenty of hating going on with no compassion on the horizon for others from these simpletons.

jadedj: Agreed.

One Fly: Nope, their compassion got squeezed out by all of the hate and bigotry festering inside them.

Oddly enough the people who support Trump admit just that. Their working class needs have been ignored all these years by the Republican elite. Then along comes Trump who tells them that and they go for it, not realizing they're falling for the same old trick again.

They still haven't learned that when Republicans promise Tax-cuts, it isn't about them.

Erik: Until a few months ago, I had no idea there were so many millions of white male voters who were furious at women, minorities, political correctness -- to the extent that this fury would determine who they vote for. According to a survey several months ago, the percentage of women who feel held back or discriminated against because of their gender -- is less than half of the percentage of males who think they've been held back by feminism or reverse discrimination, or would just plain feel threatened by the idea of reporting to a female supervisor.

And you're right, they still keep thinking these promised tax cuts and "getting the government off your back" is designed to help them. Lucy keeps holding up the football and Charlie Brown keeps running in to kick it.

The working class also still hasn't figured out that tax cuts, even if the get one, doesn't amount to much, not like it matters to the rich. We are talking about the difference between a pack of cigarettes a week, or a European vacation.

Jerry: Yup, that's another thing people keep falling for because they didn't think it through. If someone's barely able to pay their bills, this "All right, a tax cut!" might allow them to buy an extra pack of cigarettes now and then, or have hamburger instead of Hamburger Helper for dinner once a week.
