Chris Christie: Unsung Hero for Outing Marco Rubio

Thank You Chris Christie for outing Marco Rubio at the GOP debate.  Marco Rubio is nothing more than a walking talking algorithm that spews rightwing talking points on cue.  I'd never vote for Chris Christie, but he did America a huge favor by showing millions of TV viewers that Marco Rubio is such a soulless automaton, he gives empty suits a bad name.

Chris Christie Goes Down on Big Ag Lobby — the Blowjob Heard 'Round the World

With all due respect to Ross Perot, that Giant Sucking Sound you're hearing is the sound of Chris Christie trying to blow his way to the White House in 2016.  It ain't gonna happen, but unfortunately we'll all spend the next two years being treated to the disgusting sights and sounds...

Last Friday, Governor Chris Christie vetoed a bill which would have banned the use of gestation crates — i.e. where hundreds of pigs are crammed so tightly into cages, they can't move.  There's the Friday News Dump and then there's the news dump on the Friday after Thanksgiving.  Chris Christie did NOT want to be seen bending over for the factory farm lobby.  This bill to ban gestation crates had been passed by gigantic margins in both houses of the New Jersey legislature, and it's supported by ninety-something percent of New Jersey residents.

But Iowa governor and Big Ag prostitute Terry Branstad wanted Christie to veto the bill.  And Iowa is the first stop on Chris Christie's road to the White House (see snowball's chance in hell).  What to do?  Vote with the people of New Jersey and simultaneously take a stand against animal cruelty, or blow the governor of Iowa?

About the choice Christie made, Jon Stewart said:

“Your choice was either listening to the nearly unanimous voice of the people that elected you or saying ‘(expletive) them,’ and kowtowing to a state 1,000 miles away in exchange for, really, let’s be honest, the slimmest chance for political gain in a caucus you’re not going to win. Sir, you're not winning.”

Chris Christie: Kentucky is “a leech on the federal government”

Zing!  This was the latest salvo in the ongoing verbal slugfest between Chris Christie and Rand Paul (R—Tea Klux Klan).

(As The Rude Pundit once said, Rand Paul’s facial expression always looks like he just finished masturbating on a woman wearing a bear suit.  But I digress…)

Rand Paul accused Chris Christie of having a “gimme gimme gimme” attitude toward the federal government, and called him “the king of bacon.”  And Christie’s response was:

“I find it interesting that Senator Paul is accusing us of having a gimme, gimme, gimme attitude toward federal spending when in fact New Jersey is a donor state, we get 61 cents back on every dollar we send to Washington.  And interestingly Kentucky gets $1.51 on every dollar they sent to Washington.  So if Senator Paul wants to start looking at where he is going to cut spending to afford defense, maybe he should start looking at cutting the pork barrel spending he brings home to Kentucky at a $1.51 on every dollar and not look at New Jersey where we get 61 cents for every dollar.”

Unlike a lot of Democrats/liberals, I don’t hold any sort of admiration for Chris Christie.  Last fall, when he worked with President Obama during the Hurricane Sandy aftermath, it looked like Christie was a real standup guy, putting his constituents’ needs above party loyalty.  But that illusion vanished last month when Christie vetoed a bill that would have banned the use of gestation crates on hog farms.  A standup guy?  Fuck no, just another teabag-sucking corporate prostitute.

In any case, Chris Christie put Rand Paul in his place, and said what needed to be said.  He said what liberal/alternative news sites have been pointing out for years now.  The mainstream “media” has never bothered to mention this, but:

Kentucky does indeed take in a lot more tax money from the federal government than the amount paid to the federal government by Kentucky’s taxpayers.  And this applies to most of the red states.   Google it — this fact has been documented over and over on blogs and “alternate” news sites (and conveniently omitted by the corporate-owned “liberal” media).

In other words:  The number of tax dollars contributed by a state is inversely proportional to the number of slogans about “bootstraps” and “self-reliance” being spewed out by that state’s politicians.
