Bush Administration is with The Terrorists

“You’re either with us or you’re with the terrorists.” — George W. Bush.

“The only people who want us in Iraq are Iran and al-Qaida. And I talked to a top-level commander the other day and he said China wants us there also. Why? Because we’re depleting our resources ... our troop resources and our fiscal resources. The war on terrorism is worldwide. In Iraq, it’s a civil war.” — John Murtha, Congressman and former Marine Colonel.

Well, there you have it. We know whose side Bush is on.

Murtha was responding to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who said the war in Iraq is going “very, very well.”

Murtha said “Why would I believe him? This administration, including the president, has mischaracterized this war for the last two years ... So why would I believe the chairman of the Joint Chiefs when he says things are going well?”

He said Iraqis would be more able to root out terrorists after U.S. troops leave their country. “I’m convinced they know where they are, they know who they are. But they won’t tell us because they’ve turned against us. We’ve lost the hearts and minds of the people.”

He also said “We have a situation where our military is in such bad shape, it couldn’t deploy to a second front. And the Iranians know this. North Korea knows it. China knows it. We’re depleting our resources in Iraq.”

And on top of all this, the American public still identifies Republicans as better able to protect us against terrorism.

Hellllooo!!!!! Anybody home???????

Bush supporting the leasing of US ports to Dubai Ports World is also proof that Bush is with the terrrists.

Ofcourse the Repugs try to say that people who oppose the deal are Xenophobes.

Repugs forget they are the ones who set the rules to this game. "you are either with us or with the terrorists"

Anyone who aids, harbors, helps, and supports terrorists is our enemy.

Clearly the UAE has done all of these things, some of them knowingly, some of them not.

But I digress, the point is, as your post says, Bush is with the terrorists, not the American People.

I loved it when Murtha said "Why would I believe him".

Why, indeed?

PoliShifter: Yup, like you say, that Ports deal really showed Bush's true colors. And Repugs calling other people xenophobic -- talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

J. Marquis: Yeah, Murtha said it like it was. I have no idea why anyone still believes this administration.

Bush is the terrorist. Not only is he using terror in Iraq but here at home for his own personal, or that of his friends, gain.

A very rational post.
Very logical too.

How can America get out this whirlpool of chaos?

Mike: You're right. Terrorism overseas and a police state here at home. That'll be Bush's legacy.

Orikinla Osinachi: Thanks. As far as how to get out of this whirlpool of chaos -- hopefully enough Democrats and/or moderate Republicans will get elected in the '06 midterm elections. If we can tip the balance, Congress will hopefully impeach Bush. Otherwise it'll be a long wait until 2008.

About the only spot where I might disagree with Murtha is about us having the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people... did we have their hearts and minds to begin with?

Otherwise, I think he's probably right on. I'm sure China, N. Korea, Iran, Syria, et al love the fact that Bush is hanging on to the Iraq War like a bloody tick.

Snave: I doubt if this invasion ever had the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people. Hussein was a son of a bitch, but he was their son of a bitch (to paraphrase FDR). This invasion was part of a master plan by the PNAC (among other shadowy groups). WMD, al Qaeda connections, 9/11 connections -- those were all just soundbites.

Undoubtedly all our enemies and rivals are delighted that we're clinging to Iraq like a pitbull.
