Vigilante Action in Hydro, Oklahoma
It hasn’t happened yet; nobody has been assassinated or executed or tortured or anything. But it needs to happen. Here’s why:
A poodle owned by 73-year-old Edwin Fry was taken to the local pound, because the dog wasn’t on a leash.
Now I’m not saying this is right (or legal), but you’ve gotta love it: Edwin Fry got on his lawn mower and rode it to the pound. Using a pair of bolt cutters, he broke into the cage where his dog was held, and the two of them rode home on Fry’s lawn mower.
Edwin Fry spent several days in jail for this. OK, he broke the law; that’s what happens.
While Edwin Fry was in jail, his dog was euthanized. And that’s why some serious vengeance needs to be taken. A 73-year-old man is so devoted to his dog that he rides his lawn mower in to the pound and illegally springs his dog loose. And somebody in charge has the dog euthanized.
Whoever gave the order for Edwin Fry’s dog to be euthanized needs to receive a severe excruciating punishment. Citizens of Hydro, Oklahoma — Do The Right Thing.

Terrible story. Killing an old man's dog like that
Agreed. Whoever made that decision is an evil person.
Would you expect anything different from a red state?
It's all about the Power baby, respect the fuccking POWER.
Some asshole needs a damn good beating.
And by beating I mean somebody git a rope.
Not surprising, since we have become a "fuck you" society in recent years.
And Demeur has a point.
A sad story was printed in our local paper(Joplin Globe) concerning and elderly man who was jailed and his dog euthanized while he was incarcerated. An old man who loved his dog and was willing risk it all to save his friend. The really sad thing is that we have people entrusted to serve the public, that are not worthy of that trust. Those responsible for killing the dog do not deserve to live among Hydro Ok. families in a position of power. My condolences to Mr.Fry for the loss of his friend and to the town of Hydro OK.living in fear that they might be next to experience unbridled authority.
I got this story out here in Colorado! I am totally and completely disgusted that some pointy shoed little ASSHOLE with a fucking power trip had that dog put down so mercilessly and without the man's day in court!!! Who the hell do you think you are?!!! This is indicative of what is wrong with this country today. Those who we pay and are supposed to be working for us, THINK THAT WE WORK FOR THEM!!!! GET THIS STRAIGHT...WE THE PEOPLE WILL LET YOU KNOW DIFFERENT!!!You disgusting piece of horse shit!!! How the fuck do you sleep at night? That dog was probably that mans only companion or at least his best one and he obviously would do anything for him. That man should be able to sue that city and anyone involved with killing that dog! Hard to believe that this backwater bullshit still goes on in America!!! You people are an emabarrassment to white trash!!!
How very sad for this old man to have his companion taken away from him like that. This is truly shameful, but I am not shocked anymore about people being so heartless and cruel.
I hope Animal groups get involved in this and pay those heartless bastards pay big time.
Someone should get hurt.
Isn't more insult than pre-emptive measure, that cops euthanized the poodle? Which kind of begs the question, just what were they afraid of? Poodles being allowed to ‘run at-large’ or old men running at large?’

He asked for that, all he had to do was keep the dog on a leash, it's that damn simple.
A Shame there isn't this much agreement when this type of injustice happens to people

Fatboy: Yup, terrible story.
Anon.: And that evil person needs to be brought to justice.
Demeur: Unfortunately, red-staters love their pets as much as blue-staters.
Anon.: I'm with you on that; the beating and the rope.
jadedj: "Fuck You" should be our new national anthem.
jmoore: You're right, too many people in powerful positions aren't worthy of that power or any public trust. My condolences too to Mr. Fry and other people in Hydro, OK who are living in fear.
Anon.: I'm glad this story has gotten so much coverage. Assholes like that need to be publicized. I hope the dog's owner gets some vengeance on this, legal or otherwise. "An embarrassment to white trash" -- LOL.
Jess: You're right, things like this are shameful but not shocking.
Lisa: I hope so too. I'm glad we agree on something.
Carouser: I don't know what they were afraid of, but the people who euthanized that dog were pitiful cowards.
BBC: Right, and if somebody is executed for driving over the speed limit, it's his own damn fault for speeding.
Erik: I guess people love their pets more than each other.
I guess people love their pets more than each other.
When one can't speak we have to speak for them.
We have to be the voices for children and animals.
Even my Cat persona sides with the dog on this one.
Lisa: That's true, protecting children and animals should transcend politics.
TC: My family always had a dog when I was growing up, but now I'm the personal property of six cats.
This is so disgusting. Putting Fry in jail was overkill. Killing his dog was just plain spite.
This, from the state that gave us Sens. Don Nickles and Tom Coburn, doesn't come as much of a surprise. All states have their lowlifes, but some have a lower level of lowlifes. Oklahoma seems to be bucking for the title of Lowest of the Low.
I hope Fry sues and wins, or at least gives the SOB's enough grief they wish they had handled things differently.
SW: You're right, overkill and spite were the only things motivating those assholes. I too hope Fry can sue them and make them wish they'd handled things differently.
they will be punished maybe not now,but maybe some gang banger will accidentally shoot one of
them in
the head while being arrested...Couldn't happen to a
better HILLBILLY!!!!!
I suppose they could have left the dog in a burning house like the Tennessee capiatlist fire dept.
Not a good time for dogs (and people) in Right Wing Amerika.
Anon.: They'd make an excellent target for a gangbanger. Keep your fingers crossed.
Dave: Between the dog pound in Hydro, OK and the fire department in South Fulton, TN, this country is sinking further and faster.
I am a citizen of this small town and am very saddened by these event. I have lived in this small, quiet town my entire life. I love it here and I am ashamed to believe that our City Councel and the authorities of our wonderful city have let this happen to Mr. Fry and his Dog. Although he should not have taken the law into his own hands, it is an absolute shame that the poor animal was killed. I, for the first time in my life, can say I am embarrassed of what has happened here and pray for our town and its citizens. I am so sorry Mr. Fry.
Anonymous: Thank you for commenting. I'm glad to hear from somebody who lives there. I would assume most of Hydro's citizens are outraged by this. I hope whoever is responsible for the decision to euthanize that dog, is held accountable.
Anonymous from Hydro, you come across as a decent, concerned person. Please, don't just be embarrassed. Go to a town council meeting and demand that whoever killed the dog be held accountable. If they come back saying that's the law, demand to see the law in writing. If it is the law in writing, demand that the law be changed. If necessary, get together with some neighbors and keep going to town council meetings until the law is changed, the standard operating procedure at the animal shelter is changed, whatever it takes.
There's no bringing Fry's dog back, but you can make a difference to keep that kind of spiteful cruelty from ever happening in your town again.
Thanks for the ideas on the town council meeting. I am planning to attend and hopefully there will be a resolution to this problem. I know we can't bring his dog back, but hopefully he will get some kind of justice out this mistreatment by our authorities. I have to be honest in that I do believe he should have been punished for breaking into the shelter; however it is just tragic that his dog was killed. I do hope that you all know that everyone in this town is not like them. We are mostly a community of good, honest, hard working people and this has certainly caused many of us to lose sleep.
This is very sad and very inhumane. They put the dog in a box and hooked it up to the exhaust of the police car. Very cruel!!!! That should be again the law! This man's wife passed away almost 10 years ago and I'm sure this dog was a great friend to him. Please keep him in your prayers and pray they don't kill any other animals this way. If you would like to complain the number to Hyrdo Chamber of Commerce number is 405-663-2511.
Thanks for the information. I just saw that same updated news story today, that they put the dog in a box and killed him with carbon monoxide. That can't be allowed to happen again.
I WOULD LIKE A LINK TO THE FACEBOOK PAGE!
I am shocked!!! Is anyone helping this poor man? My best buddy, Gil, is an Aussie dog. This is breaking my heart to hear about his dog being killed! Cealy

I agree with your comment. And I agree with Will Rogers' quote. We had to have one of our cats put to sleep several months ago; and I want to go where he went, wherever that is.
