House Republicans to Rape Victims: “What Were You Wearing, Slut???”

And that’s EACH and EVERY Republican in the House. They voted unanimously to pass the “You Were Raped? You Were Asking For It!!!!!!!” No Taxpayer Funding For Abortion Act, HR 3.

Among other things, this bill “redefines” rape. Basically, if you were raped on any day other than Sunday and the rapist wasn’t wearing a purple jacket — it’s NOT rape.

Anyone getting an abortion can NOT use itemized medical deductions or tax credits to pay for any health insurance policy that covers abortion. Even Grover Norquist says this new bill is a tax increase.

Anyone who uses tax credits or deductions to pay for an abortion will have to prove — during an audit — that her abortion “fell under the rape/incest/life-of-the-mother exception, or that the health insurance she had purchased did not cover abortions.” In other words, IRS agents would become the abortion police.

Remember when Republicans used to talk about “limited government?”

House Speaker John Boehner (R—Jim Beam) received 135,000 petition signatures opposing the bill. Republicans are even threatening to hold the debt ceiling increase hostage, to force the Senate to approve the bill. “Vote for our anti-abortion bill or the country gets it.”

How’s that Party of Jobs thingy workin’ out for ya?

Well, the good thing is it has to cross the Senate and the POTUS desk, which is unlikely. The Senate has, relatively consistently, swatting at the little brain farts the House GOP passes through their ears.

The bad thing is if the country loses it's collective mind and lets the GOP have it all in 2012, things like this will indeed become law, and will be the norm. And they can all suck it.

I'm loving this new "let it rip" commenting you've got, with no moderation. Have you had to delete many wackos yet?

I say abortion should not be in politics but when it is funded by the taxpayer it already is.
If someone cannot afford an abortion, they probably cannot afford to support a child so if the choice is paying 300.00 as opposed to the taxpayer money paying to raise that child, then I vote for the $300.00.
Oh and by the way the IRS will already be the "health" police so start dieting all you fatties and quick drinking all your alkies because we will not tolerate your lack of willpower.
Okay and keep your legs closed while you're at it too.

My theory is that many of those House Republicans don't even want their so-called anti-abortion bill to pass. Why? Because it's the carrot they hold out in front of religious right types in election years, and if it passes, no more carrot. No, what Republicans want is for Senate Dems to vote it down or for Obama to veto it, so they can hold it up to religious right types in the coming election campaign.

Well, then it isn't. See Hyde Amendment. Read. Learn.

I have to admit it, Lisa-this time you're so far gone I'm without a response. Considering all the other times I've been able to denigrate, make fun of, and belittle your stupidity, you've actually accomplished something here.

It's pretty clear that the Rushpubliscum Party is now comprised of woman, poor, and minority-loathing Jesusistanis, who hated bin Laden so much because they envied what he was able to do.

I'd like limited government, too. From now on, I want my taxes not to pay for the next batch of drones, but a series of apple pies cooling on the windowsill.

Bee: Thank God for the Senate and White House. If the GOP wins the White House next year, we're doomed.

So far I haven't deleted any comments. I'll keep letting it rip as long as things don't get too out of hand.

SW: I think that's exactly what House Republicans are doing -- passing these nutzoid bills just to keep their base riled up, knowing the bills (or brain farts as Bee put it) won't get past the Senate.

JR: That's exactly what the GOP is comprised of. It's too bad so many gullible voters, who aren't in that category (hopefully), keep falling for Republican propaganda.

Randal: You'll have to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and make your own apple pies.

Come on now, you too can incorpprate your womb or let the females in your life know about it. We wimmin have jobs hiding up there, we just don't want you to know about them quite yet. This is all Kabuki to get the paste eaters and Talibangelicals out to vote next year and nothing else. If they could have rid us of the scourge that is choice before now, don't you think they could have done it in the last 40 something yrs since Roe V Wade. Lisa, I got nothin for you but pity right now because you just will not go do the research. I'm wondering how you survive the day at this point. Probably velcro tie ups and a note to remind yourself to inhale and exhale at certain points during said day.

@ JR, not to worry, I have your back in the denigrating and mocking department. I find myself being able to do it all the time with people like this these days.
