Surfing Religious Websites = Computer Virus

Neener neener neener.  It’s pretty much a cliché by now that pornography sites are a computer virus waiting for a place to happen.  Would you believe:   religious websites are three times as likely as porn sites to be booby trapped with drive-by malware.

According to Symantec’s Internet Security Threat Report, pornographic websites are ranked at number ten for malicious code being dumped on unwary visitors.  (The article doesn’t give the ranking for religious sites.)  Symantec blocked 81% more cyber attacks in 2011 than in 2010.  Nice trend we’ve got going here.

Well, I have enough dvd porn I don't do internet porn that much, hubby has never said if he has gotten any comp virus from his porn surfing, so I would imagine nope for him too. Plus the only "religious sites" I go to are Landover Baptist and Christwire, never had anything bad happen there either. Praize Jeebus and pass the Cheetos.

Too many folks would be up in arms if their favorite porn sites started getting STDs.

The reason Symantec has stopped 81% more malware this past year is because they have finally come to 21st Century standards. The only computers I (mostly my wife) have ever lost to viruses were "protected" by Symantec. They suck. Even more than religious sites. BTW, most of the malware inhabiting porn sites were placed there by Christian groups protecting your soul. Lawdy Mercy! Can't be looking at no poontang don't cha know.

Jesus wants you reading the Bible, not reading the Sunday School roster. How much clearer can He make it?

In the tech support business, when a person complains of a virus the standard answer is "Dude quit watching porn!"

"Dude quit watching Church!" doesn't have the same ring to it!

@JR. Oh the Christians have their very own porn site. so Jesus is okay with people doing the nasty, as long as it is man/woman, according to this site. Teh ghey buttsechsytimes are off limits. Here are some nuggets from the site I linked to in case none of you want to go there.

"No extramarital sex, unless it illustrates the downfalls of adultery. The spouses in a Christian porn production never have adulterous relations, unless they (and their partner in extramarital crime) suffer and are punished fittingly for their sins. (In deference to modern conventions, the punishment is not always mandated by scripture, i.e., being stoned to death.)

No profanity. Although exclamations of pleasure are acceptable, as are the natural sounds an vocalizations of lovemaking, Christian porn contains no profanity or swearing. The participants address each other lovingly and respectfully at all times. Of course, it goes without saying that the actors do not take the Lord’s name in vain, nor that of his Son."
The things you find on the internetz amirite?

Jess: Haven't heard of Landover Baptist or Christwire. Maybe I'll check them out (with somebody else's computer).

Grung: Yup, with David Barton you get a twofer.

Randal: It figures that there are more STDs at Christian sites.

Mr. C: I agree about Symantec. I used Norton initially just because our PC came with it. It was useless and it slows the computer down to a glacial pace when it's running or updating. I switched to AVG a few years ago. It's much better (knock wood).

JR: LOL.

Erik: You're right, "quit watching church" isn't catchy enough.

Jess: Thank you for surfing those Christian porn sites so the rest of us don't have to :)

Erik: They keep good stats and they're excellent salespeople.

@ Tom, both sites are satire, good enough to fool some people they are real. Christwire fooled Rachel Maddow and I am certain you have heard of Betty Bowers, America's best Christian, from Landover Baptist. If not, get thee over there and have a really good laugh at some of Betty's videos. Oh and you are welcome for the going to Xian porn sites. It's a dirty job but I am just the girl to do it. It's coz I am a slut you see, that takes birth control and am not ashamed of my sexuality at all.

Jess: Betty Bowers is a riot. I didn't recognize the name Landover Baptist. I loved her skit about Mormons and the one about Sarah Palin getting some sort of "Mother of the Year" award. That's all I can remember. I'll have to check out Christwire. If Rachel Maddow got taken by them, I'm impressed.
