Obama Dares AWOL Congress to Keep Blocking and Obstructing Everything

Yesterday President Obama dared Congress to remain AWOL and keep derailing and sabotaging everything:

“So sue me.  I'm not going to apologize for trying to do something.  So far this year, Republicans in Congress have blocked or voted down every serious idea to strengthen the middle class — not ideas that are unique to me.  But the Republicans have said no to raising the minimum wage, have said no to fair pay. They've said no to extending unemployment insurance for over 3 million Americans looking for a new job.”

He urged his Cabinet secretaries to “be creative about how we can make real progress” on issues where Congress refuses to act (i.e. anything other than repealing Obamacare and investigating Benghazi).  He also said:

“We're not always going to be able to get things through Congress, at least not this Congress.  I want to make sure we emphasize not what we can't do, but what we can do in the coming months.”

And speaking of Congress and dysfunction:  Most of the recent Supreme Court rulings on hot-button issues are a symptom of our AWOL Congress. The linked article says:

“Hobby Lobby has made it abundantly clear that Congress has basically relinquished its policy-making obligations to the executive and the judiciary. And that spells trouble for American democracy...a comatose legislature doesn't mean that the overall power of the government is limited. Instead, power just flows elsewhere, like the Supreme Court...and the executive branch.”

I wish he had a magic wand to wave over these fuckers to get them replaced with people that would do something. I am beyond mad about this HL thing and now companies are coming out the woodwork to ask for court dates to be allowed to discriminate against the LGBT community again. I am beyond sick of these holy rollers getting things handed to them at the expense of everyone else.

Republicans continue to prove that they have no place in government. Government is not the problem. Republicans are the problem.

And the court is not even the least bit objective but is blatantly political and abusing it's power.

Jess: I'm afraid you're right, more and more Godfearing Christians will come out of the woodwork, asserting their religious freedom to be a bunch of bigoted assholes.

Jerry: "Government is not the problem. Republicans are the problem." Excellent. That should be a bumper sticker.

Life: You're right, they're not even trying to be discreet or pretending to be balanced any more.

Good and I hope they keep stonewalling him.
Obama's lack of concern for Andrew Tahmooressi is very disturbing. I guess if he deserted his post he would have his mom at a press conference in the Rose Garden
He is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on this country.
This child trafficking thing has his name written all over it.
Talk about criminal

If Congress keeps stonewalling, there'll just be more executive orders and more laws passed or overturned by "judicial activism." To quote Billy Bob Thornton, "Is this what you want?"

@Anon. WTF a child trafficking thing is now POTUS' fault. You really need to get out of your head more and live in the real world with the rest of us. I've seen some stupid stuff on this here internet but your comment takes that to new levels of the absurd.

Those who profess to hating the government are in no way qualified to try and run it.

Thanks for posting the comment from "anonymous", Tom. The comment itself speaks volumes, as does the reluctance of the person to use his or her name. LOL!
