Off With Their Hoods!

As they had promised to do, the Hacktivist group Anonymous has outed thousands of Ku Klux Klan members who hold prominent powerful positions.

The KKK outees include the following U.S. Senators:

Thom Tillis (North Carolina), who also happens to be one of the ringleaders of North Carolina's voter suppression drive;

Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (Texas);

Johnny Isakson (Georgia);

Dan Coats (Indiana).

And the following mayors are running around like a bunch of hoodless chickens:

Madeline Rogero (Knoxville, TN); Paul D. Fraim (Norfolk, VA); Kent Guinn (Ocala, FL); and Tom Henry (Fort Wayne, IN).

That's all for now.  I'll probably add more names as they come out.  As everyone's favorite Blusterfuck would say:  “This is uuuuuge!!!

UPDATE:  Apparently, yesterday's mass KKK outing was not done by the real Anonymous.  It was a fake Anonymous trying to discredit the genuine Hacktivist group Anonymous.  Or something.  November 5th is supposed to be the real deal.  And that makes sense, with November 5th being Guy Fawkes Day and all that.

Stay tuned...

I thought Morris Dees and the Southern Poverty Law Center proclaimed the Klan just about dead! This is interesting if the Klan got sophisticated and went underground, more like a White Citizen's Council.

Don't believe this about Rogero either. She is a staunch civil rights person, and has the record to prove it.

Like all "hacks", take it with a grain of salt.

Erik: Interesting theory. Maybe the Klan did go underground and/or try to take on a "mainstream" disguise. The David Duke syndrome, you might say -- Sheriff Bull Connor disguised as a slick smarmy politician.

JUDI M.: I hadn't heard of her before today, but I'll take your word for it. After the dust settles -- there were supposed to be thousands of closeted KKK members being outed -- I'm sure there'll be retractions, apologies, libel suits, etc. It's too bad some innocent people probably got smeared, but overall I'm still glad Anonymous did this.

Is there even a liberal equivalent to the KKK? I can't think of one at the moment. And if there is, I wonder how many US Senators they have.

Jerry: The only counterpart I can think of is the 1950s -- the constant witch hunt for Communists. That was then. Now it's our turn :)

The Liberal equivalent to the KKK? The Right wing always maintained the KKK kept the communist away, I guess that's the liberal equivalent?

Erik

Fact: Pre WW2 many Americans supported the NAZI's because they were anti-communist. Hell of a choice eh?

Erik: From my understanding, Nazis and Communists were both powerful global organizations that permeated most of American political debates. Like you said, a lot of people chose one side because the other side was "worse." A lot of American industrial leaders and politicians were on Hitler's side, the ACLU was founded by Communists, etc. Those must have been interesting times.

Anon has already come out saying this list is not the one they were going to release. Theirs will be out 11-5. I think this one is a ruse to get disinformation out there, so that when the real one comes out confusion will set in. Ratfucked in other words.

Jess: Yup, that's my understanding too. The Real McCoy will be on November 5th, Guy Fawkes Day. I don't think the rightwing "fake" Anonymous sabotage attempt will have any effect. All that did was slander some innocent people; not that the teabirthers would care about that.
