The Truth about Donald Trump's “Basket of Deplorables”
As you've probably heard, the Trumpanzees are having a sad because Hillary Clinton said mean things about them at a fundraiser:
“You know, just to be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it.”
While the Trump Klan is shedding crocodile tears, here are the facts.
Among people who say they're voting for Trump:
65% believe President Obama is a Muslim;
59% believe Obama was not born in the United States;
40% think Blacks are more lazy than Whites;
50% think Blacks are more violent than Whites;
In a different poll, conducted only in South Carolina among Trump supporters:
31% believe all LGBT people should be banned from the United States;
16% said “whites are a superior race;” another 14% answered the same question with “not sure.”
Deplorable indeed.

It would be easier to accept if those numbers reflected a small minority of Americans, unfortunately, those beliefs reflect over 50 million who will cast a vote for Trump. Scary! Proving again that Americans are stupid, racists, and believe that's the ideal of what a good American should be. As whites become a minority in America, they scream louder and louder. Is this the last gasp of white supremacy in America? I doubt it.
She said "half". So, the people who are so upset must think so meant them. Why don't they think they are in the non-deplorable half. Maybe because they are the things that make her say they are deplorable?
Luke: I do think it's the last gasp of old angry white Americans. Their diminishing influence is taking longer than I wish it would, but it's inevitable at some point. Instead of going gently into the night, they're shrieking and stamping their feet louder and louder. But they'll be gone eventually.
Jerry: I guess they have guilty consciences, or they're falling back on the old "the best defense is a good offense" approach, or something. They don't realize how much of their own deplorability is being revealed by their furious reaction to Hillary's comment.
I would think it was the lat gasp of old angry white Americans if I didn't see a lot of younger people expressing the same attitudes. You can tell because they're all driving Ford F-150's or RAM trucks with Confederate flags flying and truck balls dangling. And they're all over the place in peckerwood country.
BT: That's true, unfortunately. I'm just hoping that as the oldest of the angry white resenters die off, the younger ones with their Confederate flags will at least make up a smaller percentage of the population. This change will probably happen more gradually than I wish it would.

Erik: True enough. Hopefully, some of the Reagan-era demographic of angry white rednecks has died off, so that they'll make up a smaller percentage of today's voters.
