Controlled Demolitions on September 11th

I’ve never had any specific theory about What Really Happened on 9/11. But the “official” story is the wackiest, most intelligence-insulting drivel imaginable. Nineteen crazed religious fanatics, armed with box cutters, pulled off several coordinated hijackings and suicide crashes with a degree of precision and synchronization that the CIA, KGB and NASA together couldn’t have pulled off.

This bullshit makes “the dog ate my homework” sound credible.

I don’t necessarily agree with the controlled demolition theory about the World Trade Center. But this report isn’t the usual tinfoil hattery.

Former senator Mike Gravel has signed on to a report by Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth. More than 1,200 architects and engineers have also signed on. They’re saying that “all three WTC skyscrapers on September 11, 2001, in NYC were destroyed by explosive controlled demolition.”

Mike Gravel said in a press release that “critically important evidence has come forward after the original government building reports were completed…Unlike the first investigation, this commission should be granted subpoena power and full access to all governmental files and personnel. George Bush should be forced to testify ALONE.”

You mean, he can’t even bring Jim Beam and Johnny Walker with him???

Architect Richard Gage said:

“The official FEMA and NIST reports provide insufficient, contradictory, and fraudulent accounts of the circumstances of the towers' destruction. We are therefore calling for a grand jury investigation of NIST officials.”

Anyway, food for thought.

I’ve seen many of the conspiracy videos of 9/11 and I’m inclined to believed the ones that tell of the effect but not the ones that speculate who’s behind it. One thing that struck me was, keeping in mind all the planes that used to hit the Empire State Building, the Twin Towers were designed to take a full hit by a fuel laden jet. Designers and Engineers all over the country were shocked to see it come down. They asked repeatedly to examine the debris to see where they went wrong and could design a better building. All the debris was taken away to a secret place and no one has even been allowed to examine it.

Maybe several different governments are "playing games with us" to start wars, or who knows what else. Governments have been known to do some pretty amazingly horrendous things (like human experimentation) in the name of Whatever.

I always found it convenient that in 1997, the PNAC said we needed a "New Pearl Harbor" to get the support of the American people for wars to control the remaining energy sources needed to maintain an empire, and right after they stole the election, lo and behold!-they get their new Pearl Harbor!
Anyway, go to YouTube and search 'WTC controlled demolition', there's a lot of video evidence out there showing what looks like explosions in the floors beneath where the planes hit.

I got home just in time to watch 7WTC fall down, and I was stunned. I did not, and cannot, understand for a second how a building shaped like that fell into its own footprintso perfectly. If it was weakened by fire and debris as the "official" report states, a building built like that should have "sagged" at the weakest point it had.

Am I to believe that the fire raging in the basement affected the ENTIRE bottom EQUALLY? And that load distributions above were equal throughout that rectangular building? Please-someone tell me how that happens.

Did you hear that John Boehner's draperies hanger spilled his guts to the press? Quote: "He's thinking orange."

This is a ridiculous discussion. Get over it. 19 Arabs bombed us with our own planes, while Bush slept. Get over it. Otherwise, build two new twin towers and replicate by flying two airliners into them. (I know there are some who will take me serious on this!)

While it is difficult to prove the 9/11 conspiracy as domestic in nature, it would not be so hard to convict the beneficiaries of the disaster of war crimes. THAT is our mortal and moral failure.

They needed a reason to invade Iraq and so they created one, pure and simple.

What, investigate "9-11" further and potentially uncover damning evidence... and potentially damage the effectiveness with which the right wing uses "9-11" as a propaganda tool? Hah!

Whether it was an inside job or not, there are some powerful people who would fight any efforts to investigate "9-11" further, and they would fight it tooth and nail. "9-11" has created too much of a bonanza for them in too many ways.

As Lew commented, this was just too convenient for the PNAC types and for their agenda. We don't hear much about those people nowadays, but I am sure they will be fully behind our foreign policy once again should the GOP regain control of Congress this year, and then the White House in 2012.

What new wars will they try and get us into then?

Sounds like Gravel et al are trying to push for some truth about what happened. Will their efforts be seen as some goofy left-wing attempt to discredit the GOP? Sure! And my hunch is that this is how the MSM would report it, too. The reporting of facts might not be as sensational or might not garner as many ratings (and dollars) as the reporting of someone accusing someone else of something. Sadly, these days it is the latter that people seem to want to tune in to.

I would like to see a grand jury convened to order an independent, third party investigation, if only to find out exactly what made those three buildings pancake so conveniently. I've always wondered about that.

I am skeptical, maybe because of so many far-fetched and fact-resistant JFK assassination theories over the years, conspiracy and otherwise.

Still, those raising questions are much more qualified to be suspicious than I am. So, as Bee says, let's have an independent, third-party investigation and a grand jury investigation.

I suspect it's not going to happen, and not necessarily because anyone is deliberately trying to cover anything up. The federal government is strapped and New York state is feeling the pinch as well.

President Obama is big on letting bygones be bygones under any circumstances. But even if he wasn't, I'm sure he could hear in his mind attack ads going after him, saying:

"Unemployment is 9.2 percent, 1.5 million have lost their home, with two or three times that many in jeopardy of losing theirs, and the president squanders money on yet another investigation of a nine-year-old event that has already been investigated." Yada, yada."

So, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Erik: I'm not even going to begin speculating who was behind 9/11. People who do, and start finding out too much, tend to either commit "suicide" or get killed in a "mysterious" accident. I really haven't looked at many 9/11 videos, but the controlled demolition theory makes sense, especially now with so many architects and engineers signing on to this report.

Kate: "Governments have been known to do some pretty amazingly horrendous things." That pretty well sums it up. Every government, including ours.

Lew: Yes, very convenient. Iraqmire, the Patriot Act, eliminating Habeas Corpus, "drill baby drill" -- where would they all be without 9/11?

JR: True, their official "explanation" doesn't make much sense.

NLW: Boehner wants a government job because his own incompetence will prove his viewpoint -- that "government doesn't work."

Doc: Build 2 new towers and fly 2 airliners into them -- OK, I'm on it :)

Dave: And those beneficiaries sure did benefit.

J: Yup, that gave them their excuse for invading Iraq.

Snave: I think it was Lizzy (I forget the name of her blog; she used to comment at both of our sites) that did a post about all the people who had mysterious accidents or committed suicide after investigating 9/11 too closely. There are definitely some powerful people who don't want 9/11 investigated.

Bee: I'm all for that, an independent invesigation with complete subpoena power. Probably won't happen though, for the reasons SW gives.

SW: That TV attack ad you're talking about is exactly what would happen if Obama authorized an investigation like this.
