Who Hijacked Our Country

Merry Christmas from John Boehner

To the large corporations, PACs and wealthy individuals who continue to purchase our congressional seats for us:  Merry Christmas.  Hallelujah!  Jesus loves you!

So far we’ve held off any and all attempts by Democrats to raise your taxes.  All we have to do is keep convincing tens of millions of gullible voters that you folks are the “job creators,” and that the teeniest little tax increase will jeopardize the economy.  And these dumbfucks keep falling for it hook line and sinker.  Hee hee hee.

Remember now, we’re always in campaign mode — 24/7/365.  So keep those bribes, oops, campaign contributions pouring in, and we’ll continue to bend over at your every command.

To the rest of you — the 160 million lowly working-class types who keep whimpering about “Waaaahhh, what about a tax cut for US???” — don’t come crying to me.  (That’s my department.)  You peons don’t have enough political influence for us to care whether you get a tax cut or even whether you get to keep your homes or not.  The banks own us; you don’t.  And if the economy starts faltering again because you didn’t get your tax cut and weren’t able to stimulate the economy, that’s Barack Hussein Obama’s problem.  Our multi-billion-dollar PR department will convince you dummies that the economic slowdown is Obama’s fault and not ours.  Works every time.

And furthermore:  This is America, the land of opportunity, personal initiative and individual responsibility.  Pull your whiny asses up by your bootstraps, work harder, earn more money, and if you play your cards right, you’ll have a little extra money left over that you can contribute to our re-election campaigns.  Then — and only then — will we care about you.

Got it???

I’m John Boehner and I — Boy!  Another triple shot of Johnny Walker!  Now! — and I [hic] approved this message.

I think this one's going to come back to bite Boehner and his tea-party-ridden caucus. If Obama and the Democrats flog this issue, keep it front and center the way they ought to, I know it will haunt the Republicans.

However, it's a big if.

Oh let's not forget the ignorant pug congresscritter, calling this St john of Orange's Braveheart moment, with St John of O being William Wallace. Guess if your tax plan is from a video game (Cain) and some of your platform is from 007 movie plotlines (Noot) it follows that you should see yer majority leader as WW. I swear, satire cannot keep up with these guys. Makes me wonder, if they have ever done any history lernin at all, seeing as how they are using movie "history" as their guideline instead of you know...actual history books.

That being said, it's not the republican house being blamed for this in the news, it's just the house which is that whole "liberal media bias" in play again *sigh*

People are beginning to wake up to the fact that the Republican party is what is preventing job growth, keeping the economy stagnant, and stifling progress in our country.

And once more people start to realize they are only doing it to stop Obama at every single turn, even when they agree with him... the Dems should win the presidency next year, as well as a lot of House seats. 8-)

Well I see it is business as usual. I don't think the Democrats are going to be able to handle this gift horse handed to them by the GOP. They always seem to fall short of the jugular.

That's probably true, M.

This is also encouraging:

But you're right... I'm not sure the Dems will have the wherewithal to take advantage of this momentum swing.

So Lisa, are you telling me that $166,400,000,000 per year will not stimulate the economy? That's how much money $20 per week is.

(that's one hundred sixty-six billion, four hundred million dollars -- $20 per week x 52 weeks x 160,000,000 people)

Yeah just like 787 billion did right?
What ever happened to being patriotic and paying your fair share?

what happens when it expires next year then? If it's that's important why only for 2 months?
Personally I would like to keep more than 20.00 a week of what I make.

anyway nice to see you all moving to the right on tax cuts.

What Randal said!

What Lisa said:

"Yeah just like 787 billion did right?

Sounds like you're in favor of those who make millions of dollars paying as much of their income taxes as a percentage as you or I do, then. Seems fair to me. Why do they get by with paying 15% when I have to pay over twice that much in percentage of my income?

"what happens when it expires next year then?"

What happens is that the GOP gets blamed for it, the Democrats make even more hay from all the GOP intransigence, GOP House members lose their seats in November and maybe lose the House, the Dems keep their lead in the Senate, and Obama gets re-elected because the GOP runs some ninkompoop like Newt Gingrich or some non compis mentis like Ron Paul.

"If it's that's important why only for 2 months?"

Because the GOP is being so stubborn and uncompromising that it is forcing the two sides to take more time to reach a solution.

"Personally I would like to keep more than 20.00 a week of what I make."

Then if you are represented in the House by a Republican, you should be on the phone urging him or her to stop posturing and goofing around, and extend it, and to not let it expire! And then, because he or she is part of the problem in our government getting things done lately, tell them that in a couple of months they had better have some kind of compromise package worked out with the Democrats, or you will either not vote next November or you will vote third party.

The Dems have been pretty accomodating, really. Probably too much so, considering that they control the Senate and the White House. The GOP just needs to show that they are willing to work with Obama, even though many of them have stated that their goal is only to oppose whatever he says or does. Swallow a bit of pride, if they can.

But if it's true that pride goeth before a fall, then let them be proud. The more they keep it up, the more it will work against them in November, and then maybe with fewer of them in office the country can move forward.

SW: Both of those things. It's an excellent club for the Democrats to use, and it's a big If.

Jess: You're right, these wingtards are so wacky, it's hard to make fun of them. The reality is more twisted than anything you could possibly make up.

Snave: That's true, opinion polls are definitely showing that the public blames Republicans more than Obama for our economic mess. I just hope these poll results will translate into votes for the 2012 election.

MRM: You're right on both counts. Business as usual, and the Democrats will probably find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, as they always do.

Jerry: Jess is right (the comment after yours). Using logic and math to argue with a conservative? Good luck with that.

Randal: Sorry, I already drank it.

Snave: I sure hope this will be the GOP's pride that goeth before the fall. Let them preen like peacocks right up to the moment before they crash and burn.

I believe...It's like SW said at his place..its all about the 2012 elections and who is up for re-election.

But at this point in time...with the elections so far down the road..will this matter by then? I think it depends on how the economy and job growth is doing next summer more than anything.

Well, Dusty, the republicans are doing all they can to see that the economy and employment will be in the crapper come summer.

I know Jerry, but they can't stop everything, especially things out of their control and The Big O is in full campaign mode and doing quite well in the recent polls, meaning he is making them look like the pure unadulterated shitmongers they are.

I am no fan of Obama..thats for the record btw. But anyone that can take a huge crap on the GOP and get away with it makes me smile.

The GOP is crapping on itself. BO doesn't have to do much. Just look at their slate of candidates. Everyone is crap. And the teabaggers are crapping on everyone. They are dragging the GOP back into the outhouse pit they crawled out of.

They are dragging the GOP back into the outhouse pit they crawled out of. Priceless Jerry! And we can all rejoice if that proves true in the 2012 elections and those lil bags of crap go back under the rocks they came out from.

Looks like the 2012 elections are shaping up to be something of a referendum on the far right and its general ideology. Election results will tell us how much people think the GOP has moved too far to the right. If there are significant losses for the Republicans, will they move back toward the center or will those who refuse to do so form a third party? It will be fun to watch them as they continue to self-destruct. 8-)

Only to the extent the president and Dems make it that way. The mainstream media won't be much help.

Republicans want it to be about Obama and the Dems, period. They're prepared to spend money and lie like never before to make it about Obama and the Dems.

Now Obama is now claiming those tax cuts to 40.00 per week. What's Next? 40 dollars a day?

Like any of it will matter when:

•starting in 2013 is a 2.3% excise tax on medical device manufacturers and importers. That's estimated to raise $20 billion.
• Already underway this year is the new annual fee on "branded" drug makers and importers, which will raise $27 billion.
• Another $15.2 billion will come from raising the floor on allowable medical deductions to 10% of adjusted gross income from 7.5%• Starting in 2018, the bill imposes a whopping 40% "excise tax" on high-cost health insurance plans. Though it only applies to two years in the 2010-2019 window of ObamaCare's original budget score, this tax would still raise $32 billion—and much more in future years.
• And don't forget a new annual fee on health insurance providers starting in 2014 and estimated to raise $60 billion. This tax, like many others on this list, will be passed along to consumers

So if the government spending so much money matters so much now, why didn't it matter to so many on the right when Dubya was in office, spending like a drunken sailor? I can't wait to hear the answer to THAT one, and also to hear some reasons why some of what's happening now isn't at least partially the result of what happened in the previous administration (which dug a hole this administration is still trying to get us out of).

I already gave my answer about why there is a need for the extension, but here it is again, as if it will make any difference: It is because the GOP is being so stubborn and uncompromising that it is forcing the two sides to take more time to reach a solution.

Finally, the Dems are acting like a party in power... it is very refreshing, particularly because it will be the GOP that takes the hit if things are allowed to expire.

December 22, 2011 at 1:03 PM
Blogger Lisa said...

The GOP takes a hit regardless because the left wing media already has them demonized in the curt of public opinion.
If the economy picks up,Obama wins in the Court of Public Opinion,if it tanks he still wins.
But now that they are going to vote on it Obama can put away the violin because now people will be able to eat and heat their homes.
