Wisconsin GOP Investigates Judge Who Made “Wrong” Decision

Newt Gingrich has been blubbering for years about having judges impeached and disbarred (or worse) for making an “incorrect” ruling.  And now the Wisconsin Republican Party is actually putting Plan Gingrich into action.

Dane County (WI) Judge David Flanagan has temporarily barred the enforcement of Wisconsin’s Voter ID law.  His injunction will temporarily prevent the new “extremely broad and largely needless” law from taking effect.  And there’s an election coming up on April 3rd.

Most people would react to a court ruling they don’t like by appealing the case to a higher court.  That is, people whose parents aren’t first cousins and whose IQs are higher than their shoe sizes.  Republicans, on the other hand, have reacted by doing what Republicans do best:  Going for the jugular.  Why bother with those boring legal channels when it’s so much easier to just smear and “investigate” the judge whose ruling you disagree with.

Here’s the funniest (but not ha ha) part of the Wisconsin GOP’s “reasoning” — Judge Flanagan was “unqualified” to make a ruling in this case because he signed the recall petition against Scott Walker.

WTF???  Let’s see, Justice Antonin Scalia and Dick Cheney can go on a hunting trip together, just a few weeks before Scalia issues a ruling in Cheney’s favor; and that’s just hunky dory.  Clarence Thomas’ wife is active in all kinds of teabagger organizations, and this has absolutely NOTHING to do with Clarence Thomas’ conservative rulings.

And there have been countless cases of high ranking judges who get wined and dined and pampered by VIPs from powerful industries, and then make judicial rulings that just happen to be favorable to that industry.  Nope, nothing improper going on.  Move along, nothing to see here.

And now, on top of all that, a Wisconsin judge should have recused himself from a case because he signed a petition?!?!?!?

God I hate stupid people.

Can't wait until our favorite nitwit weighs in on this.

I wouldn't mind if Thomas and Scalia were excused from further duty on the Supreme Court. It seems unfair that those positions are given for life. That is something on which I would think people from most all political persuasions could find agreement.

Of course Clarence Thomas' wife is conservative. She had to speak at Tea Party events to defend against the smears from the left about Black Conservatives .
I won't get into the legal aspect of this ruling because I don't have a law degree, but there must be a double edged sword in this decision. I mean come on the left is always twisting things around like a pretzel until it sounds logical.
Or maybe it's to prevent people from voting illegally or people who vote for Hope and Change because it sounds good .
Hmm April 3rd. I am sure there are plenty of buses running to the Motor Vehicle office between now and then.
You know what's funny abut this law and you guys.? You must know that people vote illegally or people who vote democrat can make it to the Inauguration but can't make it to the local DMV office. I mean isn't Obama paying for the gas?

Lisa,

Maybe if the Black Conservatives represented any kind of majority then they wouldn't get smeared.

How did Wisconsin get to be such a hotbed of conservative idiocy?

How hilarious. An complete and total moron picks another complete and total moron for her avatar. Tell us, are you looking as used-up as your hero is these days?

And before the complaints come flying in.... Lisa deserves nothing but the kind of derision that people like Limbaugh hands out. She's a woman out to destroy women, and I'm going to treat her in the way in which she quite clearly deserves to be treated. It is, after all, the right thing to do.

Oh and here I thought you were about minorities.
JR you wish you could get someone who looks as good as Palin. She's a very pretty woman with a great athletic body.
And she ha more stamina than Wimpy Obama as does 66 year old GW.
Obama takes one campaign trip he's so exhausted he's has to play a few rounds of Golf and when he gets back to DC he needs to unwind from his stressful job of campaign speeches and golf so he throws a big White House Party so he can schmooze his rich Hollywood supporters so they will continue to push hi agenda for him.

jadedj: You got your wish.

Snave: I think there should be a single uniform standard for a judge's impartiality, whatever that standard is. Scalia and Thomas are about as partial as anyone can get, and they get away with it. Meanwhile, the Wisconsin wingtards are trying to disqualify this judge because he signed a petition. And a federal judge who overturned California's Proposition 8 (Hate) is supposedly prejudiced because he's gay. WTF?

Lisa/Sarah: Aha, so you two ARE the same person. Mystery solved.

Erik: You mean Clarence Thomas and Thomas Sowell don't have a lot of followers :)

J: Good question.

JR: Nice cammies in that picture, no? She looks like she's getting ready to jump into her helicopter and do some moose-shootin'.
