Scott Walker: “Divide and Conquer” Organized Labor

Uh oh, the cat’s out of the bag.  If you live in Wisconsin, work for a living, and you’re still planning to vote for Scott Walker this June — you’re either a masochist or dumber than dirt.

When he ran for governor in 2010, Walker convinced gullible voters that he only wanted to curtail GOVERNMENT unions‘ excessive pay and benefits; not private sector unions.  And the only reason he wanted to do this was because, well, he HAD to.  Wisconsin had an emergency budget crisis and he had to cut expenses any way he could.  There were painful decisions to make.

A newly-released video from January 2011 shows Walker discussing his union-busting strategy with his largest campaign donor, billionaire Diane Hendricks.  In the video, Hendricks asks Walker if he would turn Wisconsin into a “completely red state, and work on these unions, and become a right-to-work?”

Walker replies:  “Oh, yeah.  Well, we’re going to start in a couple weeks with our budget adjustment bill. The first step is we’re going to deal with collective bargaining for all public employees, use divide and conquer.”

In return for this promise, Diane Hendricks donated $510,000 to Walker’s campaign.  This makes her not only Walker’s largest donor; it makes her the largest campaign donor in Wisconsin history.

Remember now:  when Scott Walker was running for governor in 2010, he never ever said one word about collective bargaining for unions.  He said he was going to reduce government employees’ wages and benefits, but this was only because of Wisconsin’s huge budget deficit.  Walker had been in office for a month before he ever said anything — publicly — about collective bargaining.  And he promised that this only applied to public unions.

And now the lying sack of shit has been outed.  A business manager from Operating Engineers Local 139 recalled his conversation with Walker:

“Scott Walker told me directly that he believed in prevailing wage.  I tried to hold some dialogue with him when the collective-bargaining issue went down. I am a union man. I believe in collective bargaining. The one thing he assured me, time and again, is that he believes in private sector unions. I don’t know whatever beef he had with public sector unions. But he said he believed in private sector unions, and that’s why I believe I have no reason to believe that right to work would be a threat from his office.”

Fool me once…

Working people of Wisconsin — no more excuses.  You can’t plead ignorance this time.  On June 5th, go to your voting booth and scrub that shitstain out of the Governor’s Mansion.

If nothing else ever pointed up the need for a higher tax rate on the rich, this does. They have so much excess money right now that they spend it propping up complete and utter fools like Scott Walker. This isn't exactly what I call "job creation."

Unlike the Unions who have "no" money trying to oust Walker and like Obama did to sure up the Unions at GM. But they can always flee like the rich will be doing in France.

This does not surprise me at all about this weasel faced moron. He has gotten tons of coin from out of state wealthy donors at a rapid pace, then like our resident under the bridge gnome here, complaining that it's the union thugs trying to take him out. total disconnect from reality with these people.

Hey know what Lisa, it has been proven time and again that breastfeeding your child does a myriad of things. One, saves you coin on formula coz you offer up the "girls" to your kidlet, 2) You lose baby weight faster when you breastfeed, 3) kidlet gets all kinds of good nutrients, providing mom is eating healthy, and last but certainly not least, coming from me that will be a total militant breastfeeding mom to my yet to be here's, you get to whip out your "girls" in public and piss off people like you who are ashamed to show more than an ankle or an elbow like Puritans of olden days.

Oh and way to get hits for your stupid ass blog by tricking people there, because they think you are sending them elsewhere. Next time a little courtesy, that you are blogwhoring your own shit, would be appreciated. I don't want to give you the hits myself, don't know about others here.

Scott Walker is just the hired goon of the Rich Plutocrats. He doesn't even care if he gets recalled. Sure, he'll fight it because it draws our energy into fighting him while all he needs do is tap into the vast resources of the 1%.

Meanwhile, if he manages to steal re-election then great! Walker will continue fucking over the poor and selling off the assets of Wisconsin for the Rich to canablize.

And if he loses then so what? Walker will be given lavish speaking fees by Right-Wing Think Tanks as he is pampered for fighting for the Rich who try and groom him to be the next Ronnie Raygun, a tool of the Oppressors.

Seeing as Walker only defeated Barrett by 5% in 2010... and the polarization ihe has enacted in the State... the guy is running out of support.

Forbes does a nice touch about Walker...

Wisconsin has a very Progressive approach.... which historically extended to Republicans. Walker is neither.

JR: It's one of those vicious cycles. The richer the 1% gets, the tighter their grip on "our" government. And the tighter their grip, the richer they get.

Jess: Unfortunately Walker has a lot of gullible drones who believe his bullshit about "union thugs."

Glad you enjoyed Lisa's blog :)

Grung: You're right, Scott Walker wins either way. If he gets recalled, he'll just move further up the Kochsucker ranks.

okjimm: Thanks for the link. So Walker has to siphon $100 million in taxpayers' money, even with the billions of Koch dollars he already has at his fingertips? He's even more of a lowlife than I thought.
