Bulletin: Mitt Romney in FAVOR of Universal Health Care
For Israel, that is. Don’t worry, it can’t happen here.
Israel has had universal health care, which includes a mandate for everyone to purchase health insurance, since 1995. This is what Romney said to an Israeli audience:
“Do you realize what health care spending is as a percentage of the G.D.P. in Israel? Eight percent. You spend eight percent of G.D.P. on health care. You’re a pretty healthy nation. We spend 18 percent of our G.D.P. on health care, 10 percentage points more. That gap, that 10 percent cost, compare that with the size of our military — our military which is 4 percent, 4 percent. Our gap with Israel is 10 points of G.D.P. We have to find ways — not just to provide health care to more people, but to find ways to fund and manage our health care costs.”
There you have it — straight from the horse’s ass’s mouth.
Let’s hope somebody will ask Romney about this during the presidential debates.

Of course Romney is in favor of a mandate. It is what he did as governor. Look,at what he does, not what he says.
This is SOP when dealing with the GOP. Look at what they,do, not what they say!
Good read
Lisa, posting your Klanservative links as "anonymous" fools no one. We can smell you well before we see your pointy hood.
Apparently it's because the Jooz know how to save the money. I'm waiting to see how long it takes for them to come back with something along the lines of "we are being misquoted or this was not intended to be a factual statement" type of excuse for his gaffes in Israel like they did in London. This guy is a walking clusterfuck of epic fail.
I think this speech will make a good Obama commercial.

Re. the first 'anonymous' link, how about when Rush Limbaugh refers to the First Lady as 'uppity'? How about GOP efforts to remove black voters from the process? As if it's just the left driving racial tensions in the country? Nice try.
Re. the second 'anonymous' link, I'm not sure Glenn Beck's kind of 'love' is what the country needs. The country needs 'love' that is free from politics, and Beck is incapable of keeping politics out of his presentations.
As for the mandate, Romney designed a plan for it and was in favor of it, and now that the president has adopted many of Romney's health care ideas and is implementing them, Romney is against the mandate. This is simply because he believes his key to gaining power is to oppose whatever the president says or does. Romney is all about expedience, and little else.
Mittens seems to have forgotten where most of the money for health care goes. Anybody here check the latest profit statements of the insurance companies?
The single biggest thing to reduce the cost of healthcare would be to get the insurance industry out of the business.

Jerry: Who knows, if Romney gets elected maybe he'll flipflop and establish universal health care here.
JR: She can run but she can't disguise herself.
Jess: Yup, Romney is being quoted out of context and the liberal media keeps obsessing over all these trivial gaffes that the American People aren't interested in. Etc.
Anonymous: You're right, Glenn Beck is just a retarded hatefuck.
Jim: I do too; I hope they'll use it.
Snave: Romney will say and do anything to get elected, no matter how often he contradicts what he's said previously.
Demeur: It's much more convenient for Romney if he can "forget" about that.
Jerry: Works for me.
