Republicans: “Callous bigoted tools…for sale to the highest bidder.”

Alan Grayson (D—Florida) nails the GOP again.  In 2009 he said Republicans want sick people to hurry up and die and get out of the way.

In a fundraising video that was just uploaded today, he described Republicans as “callous bigoted tools.”  He said:

“They have no interest whatsoever in anything but personal advancement, and the means by which they advance are to sell-out, to carve the law up into little pieces and put it up for sale to the highest bidder.  That’s the reality of the situation.”

He said there are a few principled Republicans.  He named Ron Paul as an example.  In his speech, he lashed out at Congress in general; not just Republicans:

“I feel disgust towards many of these people.  Frankly, not only the Republicans. There are so many people who show no responsibility at all to the 700,000 people who elected them, sent them to Congress and are looking for them to do something useful for them in their lives.”

That pretty well sums them up.  And yet most of these useless shitbags will get re-elected because of their safe gerrymandered districts.

Republican Party’s “unquenchable thirst to hurt the needy”

Alan Grayson’s description is spot on.  Thank God he’s back in Congress, after being swept out in the Teatard Tsunami of 2010.

Congressional reps Alan Grayson (Florida) and Mark Takano (Calif.) have announced that they’re drawing a “line in the sand” against President Obama bending over too far to placate the GOP.  Grayson said cuts to certain social programs are “unconscionable,” and Progressives need to rally against the GOP’s “unquenchable thirst to hurt the needy.”

Grayson and Takano have written a letter to the president saying they’re strongly opposed to any cuts in Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, “including raising the retirement age or cutting the cost of living adjustments that our constituents earned and need.”

They’re hoping other Democrats will sign the letter.

The two congressmen were joined in a conference call by National Organization for Women president Terry O’Neill, who said:

“Women are far more likely to be entirely reliant on Social Security for their monthly income because they work a lifetime at unequal pay.”

And she pointed out that two thirds of minimum wage jobs are held by women, and these jobs are less likely to offer health coverage or retirement pensions.

Grayson added that cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are “cheating old people, cheating sick people and cheating poor people.  It used to be that there was consensus on this.  It used to be that Democrats and Republicans agreed that there should not be cuts in benefits to Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid. People used to call Social Security the third rail of American politics. But now, Republicans are not only touching the third rail, they’re dancing on it.”

May they all get electrocuted.

Republicans Should be Jailed for Throwing the Country

Yes!!!   Palm Beach County Commissioner Burt Aaronson said the GOP should be thrown in jail for trying to destroy the country in order to defeat President Obama.  He said:

“You know, if a ballplayer threw a game and they get caught, they go to jail.  Well, what are we going to do to the Republicans who are throwing the country?  They’re throwing our country, and they all should be put in jail for what they’re doing, because they’re destroying our country, because they said at the beginning our one mission is to get rid of President Obama. That was their mission. They don’t care how much they destroy other people. They don’t care whether you go to work. They don’t care about anything.  All they want to do is destroy the president.  And in destroying the president of the United States, you destroy our country. They should be put in jail, each and every one of them, for throwing the country.”

And Senator Bitch McConnell agrees with him.  Well, not the jail part.  McConnell has repeatedly said that making Obama a one-term president is “my single most important political goal, along with every active Republican in the country.”

Throw the game, go to jail.  Hopefully one of those private prisons that Republicans love so much.

Florida sure is a land of contrasts.  They’ve got Rick Scott, the Worst Governor EVER.  But they also have Alan Grayson and Burt Aaronson.  You go guys.

Alan Grayson Trailing in Florida

Well this sucks. How the fuck is this even possible???

Alan Grayson is one of the few Democratic politicians who yells it like it is. He’s as blunt as they get. He’s probably most famous for saying Republicans want you do die quickly if you get sick.

This is the kind of fearless blunt-spoken politician we need more of; not fewer.

The Kochtopus has contributed $250,000 to Grayson’s teabirthing opponent, “Taliban Dan” Webster.

And the National Republican Congressional Committee has another $800,000 set aside for TV ads against Grayson. These shitbags are sure scared of something.

And speaking of scary: the recipient of all this largesse from the NRCC and the Koch Brothers — Grayson’s opponent, Taliban Dan Webster — is closely tied to the Christian Reconstructionism movement.

Among other things, the Christian Reconstructionism movement wants to bring back stoning to death for crimes such as adultery, heresy and witchcraft. Gee, what ever happened to “We The People!” "Freedom!" and “limited government?” Or maybe those were last week’s teabagger slogans.

Why don’t those douchebags just move to Iran or Saudi Arabia if they want people to get stoned to death for adultery and heresy?

GOP to 9/11 First Responders: “Fuck You! DIE!!!!”

It’s time for the GOP to go over their to-do list and make sure there isn’t ANYBODY out there that Republicans HAVEN’T shat on yet. Let’s see: low income people, the unemployed, small businesses, minorities, gays, non-Christians, people who’ve been dumped by their HMOs, people losing their homes — Check.

What about the first responders who risked their lives on September 11th, 2001 — Check.

The House has defeated a bill that would have provided up to $7.4 billion in aid — over a ten-year period — to people who have become ill from the smoke, dust and debris from the 9/11 attacks. OK, so that’s a lot of money; we probably spent that much in Iraq and Afghanistan while you were reading this sentence.

The 9/11 victims are kind of like soldiers: Conservatives don’t give a flying fuck about either of them, but they make excellent grist for soundbites and talking points. “Support the troops!” “9/11!” “You’re undermining the war effort!” “9/11!” “You can’t be against the war AND support the troops!” And don’t forget:

9/11

And then when soldiers and 9/11 workers become sick or disabled, rightwing bumpersticker patriotism morphs into “We don’t need you any more. Run along now. Fuck off.”

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) chewed ‘em a new one. Check out the video.

Alan Grayson, Anthony Weiner — this is the kind of Democrats we need. And unlike talk radio and Fox News, these guys not only pack a punch; they can also string together complete sentences with big two-syllable words and everything.

War is Making You Poor

Not to be confused with “War, What is it Good For,” which was Tolstoy’s original title for “War and Peace.”

John Conyers and Alan Grayson are co-sponsoring the “War is Making You Poor Act” (H.R. 5353). This bill would limit defense spending to the exact amount that’s already allotted for the 2011 budget: $548.9 billion.

But the main selling point is: There will be NO federal income tax on the first $35,000 of every American’s annual income. For couples it’ll be the first $70,000.

This tax relief will be made possible by allocating $159.3 billion that was set aside for “discretionary operations abroad.” Alan Grayson said:

“I believe that the thing we need to do is to take that $159 billion that the President has set aside – we’re not saying he has to stop the war, we’re not giving a cut-off date for the war – we’re simply saying you need to fund that out of the base budget of $549 billion. And we take 90 percent of that and give it back to the American people.”

E.D. Kain of the National Review said:

“Each troop we send to Afghanistan costs the public $1 million per year. That’s $1 million siphoned out of the U.S. economy and shipped overseas to the mountains of Afghanistan and the Iraqi deserts…For years many of these costs were hidden, not even included in the Pentagon’s defense budget. This obscures not only the real cost of war, but the costs of all the extraneous programs our tax dollars end up going toward in the name of national defense.”

Grayson adds:

“The costs of the war have been rendered invisible. There's no draft. Instead, we take the most vulnerable elements of our population, and give them a choice between unemployment and missile fodder. Government deficits conceal the need to pay in cash for the war. We put the cost of both guns and butter on our Chinese credit card.”

Here is a petition you can sign if you want Congress to pass the War is Making You Poor Act.

“The Republicans want you to die quickly if you get sick”

So what else is new? Bravo to Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) for telling it like it is; calling a spade a spade. He didn’t exactly tell us anything we didn’t already know, but it sure is fun watching the indignant — shocked! — reaction from the oligarchs and their inbred worshippers.

“If you get sick, America, the Republican health care plan is this: die quickly. That's right. The Republicans want you to die quickly if you get sick.”

Finally, a Democrat who speaks the truth, bluntly, without any sugar coating. I’m glad Obama is smooth-talking and non-confrontational, but somebody out there has to fight fire with fire.

Republicans have been spewing out their intelligence-insulting bullshit for months now. Unfortunately, after decades of education cuts, “intelligence-insulting” and “popular with the masses” are one and the same.

Republicans — at the instruction of their puppetmasters in the health insurance industry — spent the month of August inciting riots at town hall meetings. And we’ve spent months listening to their hysterical blubberings about “Death Panels!” “People dying in the ER waiting room!” “Obama is a fascist-communist-terrorist-socialist Muslim and he was born in Kenya!”

And now when they finally get a taste of their own medicine, they squeal like stuck pigs. Good!

Alan Grayson — come on, don’t hold back. Tell us how you really feel. It needs to be said.
