Pro-war Demonstration Draws — (gasp!) — 400
Saturday’s anti-war march in Washington DC drew anywhere from 100,000 to several hundred thousand, depending on who was reporting. Meanwhile about 400 pro-war demonstrators rallied today, claiming to be the “Silent Majority.”
Senator Jeff Sessions, R-Alabama, serenaded the crowd with “the group who spoke here the other day did not represent the American ideals of freedom, liberty and spreading that around the world. I frankly don’t know what they represent, other than blaming America first.”
Some of the pro-war marchers carried signs saying “Cindy Sheehan doesn’t speak for me” and “Arrest the traitors.” Some of the signs you didn't see in this crowd were “I’m looking for the nearest Army recruiter” and “I’m going to enlist so I can put my money where my macho mouth is.”
The organizers of today’s pro-war rally were hoping to attract up to 20,000 marchers. Oops. Back to the drawing board…
Here is one of the groups involved in the pro-war demonstrations. Notice that their website goes on and on about slogans, T-shirts and bumper stickers. They also brag about countering and harassing and demonizing anti-war demonstrators. But, here is something they don't mention. It figures.
