Happy Thanksgiving from Nine Inch Nails and William Burroughs
I was planning to do a nice warm fuzzy post for Thanksgiving. At second thought — NAAHHH!!!
Instead, check out the Nine Inch Nails video at this post. (The lyrics are shown here.)
Now that you’ve got that warm tingly holiday feeling inside, let’s complete the mood with this heartwarming poem by William Burroughs.

Happy Thanksgiving Tom!
Thanks Larry! Same to you.
Great post :)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Tom!
Wow, Burroughs' poem was scathing. And truer today than it was even in 1986.
I'll be able to think of some good things to be thankful for, but when it comes to our country, it is a rather bleak picture, I agree.
Happy Thanksgiving, Tom!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and be safe!
Candace: Thanks. And Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours too.
Mauigirl: Yup, scathing but true. There's a lot to be thankful for, but the current political climate isn't one of them. Happy Thanksgiving Mauigirl.
Let's Talk: Thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Blog truce holiday!
Happy Thanksgiving!
American Power
Donald: Truce is good. Happy Thanksgiving to you too Donald.
Now that's my kind of Thanksgiving!
Randal: I second that.
I will look forward to visiting with Burroughs someday in that mythical fiery region beneath the earth. He's a literary favorite of mine. Nice link to the poem, I hadn't heard that one! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving, too!
Snave: Yeah, Burroughs is pretty out there. I haven't read much of his stuff; I read part of Naked Lunch while I was browsing at a bookstore a long time ago. He reminds me of the Beat Generation (Kerouac, Ginsburg, etc.) only more cynical and pessimistic.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Thanks for the link to the NIN vid. That was awesome.
I read Naked Lunch & Junky back in the day. I used to be really into Burroughs.
Lizzy: Yeah, that's a killer NIN video. I'll have to read more of Burroughs. When anyone is that cynical and pessimistic, you know they've got something to say.
