Republicans: “First Amendment? We Were Just Kidding”

Here’s the GOP’s two-pronged approach to the 2012 election:

1. Raise trillions of dollars — most of it from anonymous donors — for a bunch of vicious slanderous TV attacks on Obama.

2. Prevent TV stations from airing the Democrats’ opposing commercials.

The National Republican Congressional Committee is demanding that a New Hampshire TV station yank a commercial they’ve been running. This ad is making the absolutely preposterous claim that the Republican budget plan will end Medicare. [gasp!]

The National Republican Congressional Committee has sent threatening letters to TV station WMUR and Comcast Boston, demanding that the add be pulled.

Republicans already have a gazillion dollar campaign fund — remember, corporations are people — and a 24/7/365 rightwing propaganda campaign on Fox News. Isn’t that enough???? On top of their huge advantage, they’re trying to censor opposing TV ads?!?

In the Republican version of the Bible, Goliath killed David with a slingshot.

Seems that if campaign season is beginning already, the Democrats should be allowed to campaign too. Campaigning means running ads. Let the Dems run their ads.

Sure, the Dems only have one candidate (Obama), and the GOP has many who are campaigning and vying for their party's nomination. But it shouldn't be a situation where only the GOP candidates are allowed to campaign. They basically all say the same thing. To not allow an opposing point of view is ridiculous.

If you haven't already turned off your "television"(set), and thrown it into the nearest "recycling facility "...

We see where the O'Bama D o J priorities are - indicting Edwards on 6 felony counts for his 'indiscretion' while the real criminals continue to rape and murder of what's left of the civilized world. Fuck ME.

"Lies,lies"...
Wasn't that Paul Revere and the Raiders, circa 1965?

Campaign season never ends. This is elementary.

Just received the first auto call from Huckleberry and was delighted to hang up on him.
Somebody needs to write a nasty scripted rant to send back to them when a live rethuglicon caller calls.

Good for those broadcasters and whoever's paying for the ad. I hope it goes national, along with a brief explanation of the NRCC's effort to suppress the ad.

This kind of story is one most people pay no attention to. Even if they read or hear a brief news item on it, they forget it in two minutes because they see no importance to it. Well, it is important, and people should be told how and why it's important. Might spare us from the damage another Bush-grade president will do.

Instead of this tired, endless cycle of campaigning and electioneering, decide offices via a high school talent show.

No that was a band from New Jersey called the Knickerbockers … that song was often mistaken for a Beatles tune. The band made a number of appearances on Dick Clark’s “Where the Action Is” and of course Paul Revere and the Raiders was the sort of house band on that program. If you can remember any of that, you probably also remember when Amerika was a functioning democracy. For more on the Knickerbockers, visit Google, YouTube , or your local library. For more on what ruined America, visit the Ronald Reagan Library.
