Supreme Court to Big Business: “We’ve Got Your Back”

Give us your poor industrial polluters, your huddled corporate conglomerates yearning to breathe free…

The Supreme Court has struck two more blows for Freedom and Liberty. Hardworking Americans will no longer be oppressed by femi-nazis, class warriors or treehugging environmentalists.

Wal-Mart can keep on discriminating against women without any further whining from them women’s libbers or meddling government bureaucrats. And this time the Corporate Arm of the Republican Party ruled unanimously. There weren’t any token dissenters pretending to care about the riffraff.

In another unanimous ruling — might as well drop the pretenses and the crocodile tears — the Politburo ruled in favor of greenhouse gas emissions and against the ozone layer.

Several state governments and conservation groups had filed a federal lawsuit to force reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. The Court ruled that only the Environmental Protection Agency has the authority to reduce emissions. Well, that boxes the compass, since Congressional Republicans are determined to withhold the funding that would allow the EPA to do its job.

Now THAT’S teamwork.

The Supreme Court, once again, proves that they are in the pants of big business. They are truly the supreme cocksuckers of the corporations.

It's getting harder and harder to believe we've fallen to this place in history... corporate whores run Congress, sit on the nation's highest court, and seem determined to rape and pillage until something akin to a rapture actually happens.

The SCROTUS is the most corrupt organization in the entire country, and that is saying something. They are lining their pockets so furiously that it's a wonder they can find places to stash the cash.

Just when you think the blatant favoritism can't possibly stand anymore public scrutiny...or all the bums will be taken out and shot...they piss in our faces again. AND NOTHING HAPPENS!

They are right, we are all a bunch of piss ant morons who they think deserve nothing better than their Golden Steam.

Jolly Roger...you nailed it!

I expected a majority decision, but not unanimous.

Well people stood by and watched while the Conservatives and the Courts stripped the racial discrimination laws bit by bit, gave it the label of Affirmative Action, said it was favoritism, reverse discrimination, and unfair.

Then everybody over 55 watched as they did it to them in the age discrimination laws.

Now it's the sex discrimination laws effecting the majority population in the country - are you happy now?

Like that old "when they came for ...., I did nothing" poem written during Nazi Germany.

Women shouldn't be out working anyhow. We should be in the house, barefoot making babies and pot raosts in high heels or something. Keeryst, I just threw up in my own mouth typing that out. Nothing will change till we get more liberals on the court or we can get congress to go about the business of reining these corporations in. Don't hold your breaths waiting for any of that, I would miss all of your posts.

The Supreme Court is just another branch of government the corporations and rich have bought and paid for, if indirectly. Well, indirectly except for Clarence Thomas, anyway.

And Scalia, S.W.

The country has now been put on notice that it must write a new Constitution and re-form if it is to survive as a non-fascist entity (as the last organ of government has let it be known publicly that it also has become a servant to the corrupt plutocracy).

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

I've been at work for over two hours and not one woman has brought me either my coffee or something to eat.

Randal, that's not so bad. What's bad is when they stand in the corner whispering, laughing and pointing at you. ;)

Jerry: Yup, they've proved it once again; as if we even needed more proof.

Squatlo: It'll be either a rapture or a revolution; hopefully the latter.

JR: Everyone thinks of the court system as the last refuge from corrupt lawmakers; so it's worse when the Supreme Court turns out to be just as putrefied as Congress.

jadedj: Brace yourself for the Golden Stream. It's gonna keep getting stenchier, thicker and steamier.

Erik: Good point. There really are some eerie parallels. Everyone just sits there thinking "Oh well, they haven't eliminated MY benefits yet; a SWAT team hasn't kicked down MY door yet. So everything is cool."

Jess: That's right, back in the good old days when women knew their place, everything was fine.

SW: It's too bad, but yes the Supreme Court is every bit as bought-and-paid-for as the Executive and Legislative branches.

Suzan: Scalia and Clarence Thomas are by far the two most blatant of the two-faced crooks on the Court.

Teeluck: How sad it is, that that poem is just as relevant in 2011 America as it was in 1930s Germany.

Randal: That is completely unacceptable!

SW: We need to bring back the good old days when women would be dunked in the river for gossiping.

@Randal, are you holding up the sign that says --make me a sandwich bitch? If the answer to this is no, get on it and I am certain one of your female co workers will be right there with what you need :) I know I would, because I know my place as a subservient, demure woman.
