GOP: Special Victims Unit

The Daily Show is offering its condolences to Republicans after the years of slander and meanness they’ve had to put up with. Finally, somebody is acknowledging conservatives’ eternal victimhood. If you’re like me, a part of you dies every time some godless cashier says “Happy Holidays” instead of Merry Christmas.

Political correctness, Fascist liberals attacking anyone who disagrees with them — as Sean Hannity said:

“It’s so vicious, it’s so mean, it’s so cruel. And I don’t hear this coming from conservatives about liberals.”

You tell ‘em Sean!

And now, fellow Teatards, Jon Stewart feels your pain.

That's an excellent Stewart segment, and so very true.

Projecting their own bad motives and deeds onto the opposition has been standard operating procedure for the political right since the Reagan era. Karl Rove took it to new heights from 1999 on.

I especially appreciated the attention Stewart gave to Hannity, a swollen hemorrhoid desperately in need of lancing and draining, metaphorically speaking, of course.

SW: Projecting, that's exactly what they're doing. Playing the victim card while accusing liberals of playing victim. Having a corporate stranglehold on the media while complaining about "the liberal media."

My sentiments exactly on Sean Hannity.

Good one! Tom, you and S.W. are right, I think it *is* definitely all about projection. 8-)

"Eternal victimhood"... heh! True, we have been merciless and relentless. So have they. But now it seems they can dish it out but they can't take it any more. Bunch of pansies! 8-)

John Stewart is also the name of one of the Green Lanterns.

I don't know what it means, but it might mean something.

Snave: For Sean Hannity of all people to talk about being a victim, it's too absurd to believe. He's gotta be the most abrasive obnoxious asshole among the rightwing talking heads, and he says "I don't hear these kinds of attacks coming from conservatives." LOL.

Erik: Then they must have an awful lot of viewers, with all the victim-playing they're doing.

Thomas: It probably means something.

That was funny. The wealthy crybabies are sooo spoiled by always getting their way, they throw tantrums just because someone dares to disagree with them.

Then when they finally don't get their way, they become dangerously vindictive.

Whiny powerful crybabies turn to thugs when they don't have their way.
