Rick Perry: Drill Baby Drill 2.0

You’ve gotta be kidding.  Variation #947 of “create millions of new jobs, just by getting those meddling bureaucrats and sniveling environmentalists out of the way.”

If this is the best Rick Perry can come up with, no wonder he’s Texas Toast.

So far the Everglades are safe, since Florida is a swing state and Republicans don’t want any drilling in THEIR back yard.  For the rest of America’s public lands and sensitive environmental areas — Sayonara.

In addition to crippling the Environmental Protection Agency, Perry’s “plan” also includes preventing lawsuits by those pesky environmental activists.  Yes, our Founding Fathers clearly intended for the courts to be reserved exclusively for wealthy businessmen in three-piece suits.

This article goes into more detail.

If you think fracking is the greatest thing since sliced bread and only a treehugging Communist would want to regulate it  — you’ll love President Rick Perry.

And for God’s sake, hurry up and get those yucky animals out of that Arctic National Wildlife Refuge so we can drill for that there AWL.

Needless to say, the Keystone XL Pipeline needs to approved and fast-tracked yesterday.  Those people in Nebraska weren’t using their aquifer anyway, were they?

Jeannie: Does that go for abortion and gay marriage as well?

SM: Now now, we're supposed to be nice to guests here, even when they're misguided :)

Like Obama says

1- Use the numerous leases you've been sitting on for decades before you think of getting more.

2. End the tax breaks for those leases, they are getting taxpayer money for oil you aren't even drilling for.

3. Same with the oil depletion allowance - gives them a tax break for "dwindling resources" they haven't drilled for yet.

4. I also bet if we ended the tax incentives they demanded, and congress gave that gives them more money to import from OPEC then domestically we would a lot of jobs. Oil companies have reduced themselves to brokers anyway and now leave the dirty work of drilling and exploration to someone else while still collecting the money for it.

At least in Alaska if they drill and find oil every resident will get a cut, thanks to that Socialist Law passed by a Conservative State..A great reason to live there.

Well according to lil Ricky Texas is doing the Lawd's work by tort reform(which is not working there by the way) so the fact he wants to prevent lawsuits is not surpising in the least. It is past time these oil companies got off the public teat anyway. Wasn't it just last year the bigwigs from different oil companies said they were making enough money? That money should go into renewable resource development. I forget amounts but it was in the billions they get subsidized and renewables get peanuts. It should be the other way around, since they know how to get the oil and have for decades. It has not changed that much to where they need research into different ways to extract it right? Or am I missing something.

Those animals are not pulling their weight anyway and haven't done for years, so why us libs want to save them is beyong me. They need to earn their keep dammit.

One word answer girl to the rescue, Is Jeanie stupid..YES yer welcome

Jeannie

Perhaps each state can decide for themselves if they could guarantee each Coastal spill will effect their Coast line only.

My Should Louisiana suffer because Perry wants to damn the regulations and go full speed ahead in Texas?

Monkey see, monkey do. Noticing Cain's idiotic 999 plan is getting him traction among the wing nuts paying attention to the GOP primary race, Gov. Goodhair decides he needs his own crackpot-crazy Big Idea to appeal to the same wing nuts. Plus, Texas Republican pols like few things better than giving energy industry fat cats a group orgasm.

I was going to writeup a post on this douchenozzle's plan but my blood pressure takes off each time I start it up. Fracking I have written in-depth on and it's something that hits home for me both in my area and where my son lives in OK. His welll is now poisoned thanks to fracking.

All of the GOP clown's ridiculous plans are pure shit, and really don't do anything concrete to create jobs...they just kill the EPA and other regulatory agencies..their true goal.

Erik: Good point about Alaska. I've never heard a conservative explain why giving the general population a portion of an industry's profits is fine and good at the state level; but the same thing on a federal level is "Socialism!"

Anonymous: LOL.

Jess: Good old tort reform. Meaning, of course, there should be no lawsuits whatsoever filed by an individual or a liberal activist group. Courts are reserved exclusively for huge corporations to sue anyone and everyone who offends them, and to sue individuals for imaginary trademark and copyright "violations."

Erik: Good point. One state's "right" ends where a neighboring state's public health begins.

SW: "Monkey See Monkey Do" is right. A marketing whiz must have figured out that mobs of teatards can be mesmerized by numbers as well as simple phrases repeated endlessly. 9-9-9, 47%, 53% -- this is probably more math than the average teabirther has had since dropping out of grade school.

Perry always has to compete by coming with his own Texas-sized "mine is bigger and louder than yours" imitation.

Dusty: That happens to me too. I'll see an article that pisses me off so much, I can't even put it into words. Sorry to hear about your son's well getting poisoned by fracking. This is happening all over the country, but we can't have them gummint socialists meddling around now, can we.
