If You Like Monsanto, You’ll LOVE Mitt Romney

Sit back, think the word “Monsanto,” and then enjoy the idyllic images that sweep into your mind…

Toxins, some of which aren’t even listed on the ingredients label.

Genetically modified (GMO) crops which are resistant to insect pests, and which in turn are creating a new generation of bugs and weeds which are resistant to Monsanto’s genetically resistant crops.  Talk about an arms race.

And most heartwarming of all:  Hundreds of thousands of farmers in India who have committed suicide after being driven into debt by Monsanto.  (Google it.)

And now, take all these warm and fuzzy Kodak images and add two more ingredients:  Bain Capital and Mitt Romney.

Between 1977 and 1985, Monsanto was overwhelmed by scandals and lawsuits.  They turned to Bain Capital for help.  Monsanto executives were so impressed with Mitt Romney, they started bypassing Romney’s superiors so they could deal with Mitt personally.

Two — out of many — of Monsanto’s most notorious scandals were Agent Orange and the dumping of millions of pounds of PCBs into creeks and landfills near Anniston, Alabama.  They needed an image makeover, and fast.

And Mitt Romney delivered.

This is exactly what makes up today’s Republican Party:  a few gigantic amoral unaccountable corporations, and a few million Biblehumping snake-handlers who want to bring back the Salem Witch Trials.

Unborn babies are sacred.  As soon as they’ve been born:  POISON them.

I'm convinced he was just the pretty face up front at Bain and the only reason he got that was his daddy's name and reputation. This guy is just a total skeevy bastard who has no use for anyone except himself. This allowed him to do all the wheeling and dealing that he did to screw people over.

Jess, you're right. At best, Willard is a financier. We see all too well how any outfit that he is the "brains" of runs.

So are you saying that Mitt is one of Monsanto's genetically created products?

Jess: Yup, a pretty face who was born on third base and thought he hit a triple.

JR: We'll have to hope the U.S. doesn't become the latest outfit to be run by Willard.

Erik: Nah, Monsanto can do better than that.

Jerry: An even scarier thought -- Romney wasn't a mistake.

That info about the Monsanto rider on the agriculture bill is reason enough, all by itself, for voters to be very afraid of Romney becoming president. The provisions are shocking and very dangerous.

We had enough crony capitalism during George W. Bush's reign of error. The last thing we need is someone who's into that even more.

SW: That Monsanto rider in the farm bill would definitely meet Romney's approval. There are a lot of amendments to the farm bill that I hope will get eliminated during House/Senate conferences and/or vetoed.
