Arizona Immigration Law: A Gold Mine for Private Prisons

Whatever Arizona Governor Jan Brewer says, she likes the new immigration law for other reasons besides safety and border security. She’s closely allied with the Prison Industrial Complex.

Two of her top advisers have close ties to Corrections Corporation of America (CCA). And CCA holds the federal contract for housing detainees in Arizona. When they start rounding up all them swarthy Meskins — the new law takes effect this Thursday — Corrections Corporation of America will get even wealthier.

Hey, as long as America locks up more people than any other country in the world, we might as well make a profit from it, right? Or to paraphrase a popular poster from the late ‘60s: Prison is good business; invest your son.

Now who says Republicans don’t have any original ideas, any solutions? Al Franken comes to their defense. They do too have an agenda: They’re trying to bring the economy to a standstill because they don’t want people to get jobs before the election.

See??? The Republicans really DO stand for something.

I sincerely hope that all of these measures work to their fullest capacity, then all the jobs previously done by illegals will now have to be done by crackers and they sure as hell won't like that one bit.

Randal: More jobs for crackers -- what's not to like.

Anonymous: Damn right. This country has too many faggoty teachers and doctors and not enough manly prison guards. (I'm assuming your comment was tongue-in-cheek.)

Bottom line: For the Republicans to succeed, the American working class must lose.

Mission Accomplished!

How many Crackers as you pointed out have seen their own feet in years.
No I don't think picking fruit and Vegetables are in our Future. We'll just have to get another minority to take advantage of.
Damn you Jan Brewer, your going to make zillions.

I think it's time after this round-up that they get this whole Apache Indian thing squared away too. Ship their asses back where they came from too.

Privatization of incarceration is what it's all about. Why deport them back to Mexico when you can create a perpetually self funding political machine by making your cronies rich, who then in turn contirbute to your campaign....

Dave: Right, mission accomplished. American patriots have been liberated from those evil Redistribute-The-Wealth commies.

Tim: Even if those crackers can't see their own feet, they'll still be a valuable contribution to the Prison Industrial Complex.

jadadj: LOL. Some KKK type will probably say that, and they won't be joking.

Bee: Right, the motivation behind the motivation. We thought they were just bigots; turns out they're money-grubbing bigots.

Lew: "Perpetually self-funding" -- yup, that's the beauty of our private prisons.

This probably explains why Arizona chose not to hire Xe (nee Blackwater) to take care of the riff-rafferos. Why mow 'em down like tall grass when your cronies can make big bucks warehousing them?

Unbelievable.

Well the AZ Jan Brewer did it again, she signed into law to allow "Private Prisons". Even though Corrections Director Ryan pleaded with her in his letter, "Undoubtedly, a private company would pay its employees significantly lower wages and provide them lesser training to realize cost savings. This would lead to higher staff turnover, low morale and place public safety at risk".

I wonder if its "Corrections Corporation of America (CCA)" the same one that two of her staff members are lobby for "Private Prisons", no, it could be, say it ain't so. Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) will benefit from Arizona's criminalization of undocumented immigrants and their being held as prisoners under SB 1070, it takes fear mongering to another level.

These "Private Prisons" were only suppose to be for DUI prisoners but now we find out that escaped prisoner Tracy Alan Province and John Charles McCluskey, escaped, were being kept there.

These prisoners were convicted of murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, so what did they do, they carjacked someone's vehicle, assisted by family (resulting in the arrest of one of their mothers), possibly killed an Oklahoma couple visiting New Mexico, before they were finally capured.

Way to go Brewer, you do not care about public saftey, just as long as you get your political contributions check, amazing.
