Who Hijacked Our Country

Lindsey Graham: “Shoot the Messenger!”

Most Americans are angry, horrified (but not surprised) at the information published by WikiLeaks. With all of the lives lost and the countless billions of dollars (that’s OUR money!) spent in Afghanistan, we have a right to know where our money is going and what people are dying for. If our Pakistani “allies” are secretly coordinating with the Taliban — uh, shouldn’t we know about this?

But there are a few twisted sickfucks who are pissed off for all the wrong reasons. They aren’t mad at the deception; they’re just angry that this information got leaked.

Lindsey Graham (R—CoverUp) wants to prosecute not only the people who leaked the information, but also the WikiLeaks website itself. He shat:

“I’m willing to prosecute anybody who led to undermining the war effort. As far as I know, there’s no immunity for a website to be able to pass on documents.”

Peter King (R—Slow) and Songbird McCain have also called for the prosecution of whoever leaked the information, but so far neither of them have talked about prosecuting WikiLeaks.

The Songbird said whoever leaked the information should be sentenced to life in prison.

Oh well, at least the Far Right is consistent. Don’t forget about conservatives’ uncontrollable fury when the name of a CIA operative was leaked and then got published by the late unlamented Robert Novak. Right? Don’t you remember???

I DO recall the CIA leak. All those folks who were responsible for it were convicted, weren't they?

I undermined the war effort and all I got was this lousy comment.

It's so much easier to condemn someone undermining a war than to condemn a war undermining the country.

They'll have just as much luck as with the Pentagon Papers

The only thing that concerns me is that names of Afghans may have been released who could be killed as a result. There is no threat to national security.

Tom
Good point there, and Bush and Cheney aren't in jail Why?
They outed a CIA operative and scooter took the hit, like the good little soldier he is. We should have waterboarded the little bastard so he'd squeal like a pig.

Karthikeyan: Interesting site. I'll link to you.

jadedj: Damn right they were convicted. Dick Cheney and Scooter Libby have been languishing in a hellhole prison since 2005.

Randal: Sorry, the T-shirts are all sold out.

Dave: No no, it's War Uber Alles!

Erik: Yup, I see lots of parallels with the Pentagon Papers.

TC: That's definitely something to be concerned about. But you're right that our national security isn't jeopardized at all.

Tim: Cheney and Libby both should have been waterboarded.

Thanks for confirming that Tom. It's a relief to me, because someone told me that the bastards got away with murder...as it were.

jadedj: Fortunately, the only death in that whole affair (ultimately) was Robert Novak. Hoisted on his own petard, or whatever you call it.
