Ted Stevens

I did several scathing expletive-riddled posts about Ted Stevens when he was in the Senate. But he got voted out so that’s all water under the bridge.

My condolences to his family and everyone else who will miss him. He was supposed to be personable and well-liked, even though he was wrong most of the time.

Instead of hammering away at him for being one of the oil industry’s most faithful puppets, we should celebrate his other lesser-known career — Ted Stevens the Techno Rapper.

R.I.P.

I guess now I'm supposed to like him. I was brought up not to curse the dead and I'm going to try to avoid that. Being a Republican meant he spent his life trying to do harm to people like me. I've never seen any thing to his record to indicate the contrary and he wouldn't remain a Republican in good standing for so many years unless he participated in their shit.

Civil Rights, Burden the working class, continued preferences to the rich - yet probably loved his wife, his kids, his dogs, probably did the PTA and Rotary as well.

Then Dumped his niceness at the Door and joined his party to legally trash everybody that didn't look like him or could afford him.

I think the real shock was how his good friend Senator Inouye testified on his behalf at his trial. I mean is that crossing party lines or what? What could those two have in common? Do you think that if the situation was reversed and if Mitch McConnell decided to go after Inouye would Steven's have come to his good friend's defense?

Or do the Republican thing, line up and take no prisoners? I mean was anybody as surprised as me to find out that Ted Kennedy and Orrin Hatch were such good buddies? I don't think Ted spent too many Thanksgivings in Utah however.

If he was such a good guy then why was I never helped by him?

Didn't I read somewhere that he was so sick of Ms. Impaling that he was starting to unload some of the in-crowd secrets?

I swear (almost - if I believed in swearing) that I heard something negative towards his bosses.

Love ya,

S

Not that I don't believe in real plane crashes - but really!

It's a good thing we can balance the bad news of Stevens' death with the good news of Cheney getting out of the hospital...

He survived one plane crash where his first wife was killed in the 70s and then this. Well, he was doing something he loved and now I have nothing nice to say, so I will leave it at that.

Erik: Nah, he wasn't a good guy. I was just being nice since he's dead.

Randal: "A fucker of a corpse" LOL.

Suzan: Interesting. So maybe that plane crash wasn't an accident? At this point, nothing is too shocking or too hard to believe.

Dave: So Cheney's out of the hospital, eh? As Jerry Seinfeld used to say, "Oh, great."

Jess: I didn't know any of that, that he survived an earlier crash where his wife was killed. You're right, it's better to die doing something fun and adventurous.
