Please Help Jon Kyl Go Home for Christmas

The War on Christmas is getting more brutal than ever this season. This time it isn’t just pagan cashiers saying “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas.” Those devious liberals are finding more and more subtle, insidious ways to piss on Jesus.

As you’ve probably been reading, Senate Republicans are doing their usual stalling tactics against the New START agreement, the omnibus appropriations bill to keep the government running; you name it. Time is running out. And now Harry Reid — did somebody give him a spine for Christmas? — has announced that the Senate will work through the Holidays, if that’s what it takes to get their work done.

And this threat, this sacrilege — the Persecution of Christians! — is not sitting well with Senator Jon Kyl:

“It is impossible to do all of the things that the majority leader laid out without doing — frankly, without disrespecting the institution and without disrespecting one of the two holiest of holidays for Christians and the families of all of the Senate, not just the senators themselves but all of the staff.”

Of course, if the Senate would just VOTE on these bills — instead of filibustering and delaying and putting holds on everything — they’d probably finish their work in time to go home tomorrow. But try explaining that to a Republican.

Meanwhile, Jon Kyl might not get to go home and open Christmas presents with his family. To borrow a phrase from one of his biggest idols — Jon Kyl would like his life back.

Democrats are equally guilty of obsfucation. The Rethugs are simply better at all the "inside" shenagians.

This nonsense about the 'filibuster' being a/the problem is another smnokescreen; another paper tiger both sides use to point the finger.

If ANYONE still believes Obama has anything but contempt for the so=called middles class they're simply fooling themselves.

Fool me once - shame on you.
Fool me twice- you know the drill.

Wake the Eff up people, pay attention.

Oh, and Fuck the bastard Kyl.

Tom: It's the nature of so many in this country. You are supposed to believe in the "most holy" Christian holiday that neither Jesus nor his family ever celebrated once - but ignore his rhetoric about feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, etc. And if you even dare mention your views on the matter, you are attacking them. How pathetic!

Hey, he wants Xmas free, he's more than welcome to quit his lush gig and find an actual job like the rest of the unwashed masses.

Imagine if you will the world's tiniest violin. Currently I am playing the saddest tune in the world, on that tiny violin for the new Weeper of the House(Boehner) and the rest of them (Kyl et al) that think it's against the baby Jesus to work. I wonder if they are thinking about those poor retail people that work the return counter the day after. See why I am playing the saddest tune for them?

There's obviously a competition on among Arizona Republicans, to determine which one is the biggest, ugliest and most painful weeping pus pocket on the sore ass of American politics. It's a three-way: Kyl, John "I'm OK With Ending DADT As Long As The Generals Agree With My Disagreeing With It So It Won't Happen" McCain and Gov. Jan "Need transplant? Die Quickly!" Brewer.

It's enough to make a person hope Texas secedes and annexes Arizona.

This is a time when we ask ourselves, "What Would Jesus Do?".

I think we'd find that the answer is, feed the hungry, minister to the poor and heal the sick. Not bitch about having to skip the egg nog.

Anonymous: I see you've got it in for both sides. That's the spirit. I still think Democrats aren't quite as bad, but both parties -- most politicians -- are up to their necks in sleaze and corruption.

Rick: I think it's equal parts Pathetic and Cognitive Dissonance.

jadedj: Kyl wants to start early. So much eggnog, so little time.

Randal: "An actual job like rest of the unwashed masses" -- LOL. He probably isn't qualified for anything.

Jess: It's only sad when VIPs have to work on Christmas. Those lowly retail clerks don't count. They've never done anything important, like financing people's re-election campaigns.

Anonymous: I've lost track of what is and isn't in the appropriations bill. We're probably not supposed to know.

SW: Nice description of Arizona's Big Three, or three stooges, or something. And on top of that, Dan Quayle's son got elected to something in Arizona. Either Congress or a state office; I forget.

Thomas: Nah, Jesus wants everybody to spend money they don't have, on expensive useless presents for people they don't even like :)

Despite Republicans' fake war on Christmas, nobody takes the Christ out of Christmas like Republicans.

Happy Holidays.

Dave: Well said. Seasons Greetings.
